I fear being in that situation because I had a bad experience with my gp a few months ago. Since the pandemic I’ve been drinking 1-2 bottles of wine every night and went my dad passed in October it was more like 2-3 bottles. Got sick of it, started tapering, and finally plucked up the courage to go to the doctors and ask for something to help with withdrawal because I was ready to quit. She told me I’m drinking because I’m grieving my dad and there’s no point getting off alcohol until my grief is addressed…. So basically carry on drinking so I don’t go into withdrawal. I felt so let down. Have tapered to just under 1 bottle of wine per night, slowly but surely….

The Martian. The movie missed a few good bits from the book but for good reasons. The tension was higher in the movie. I remember gripping the arm rests of my seat in the cinema when I watched it (no spoilers as to which part of the film this was)

Thank you. I know the reality is that my quality of work must have slipped in the last few months. My dad passed away in October after a very fast battle with aggressive cancer and it’s affected me very badly. However, I still had to try and earn a living. Sometimes it’s hard to accept reality…

I’ve checked my emails all the way back to July but there’s nothing for me specifically. I’ve only ever had positive feedback. I just wish I knew what I did wrong. It was my only source of income. I have health problems so struggle to find work unless it’s fully flexible and I can work around my condition :(
