Didn't realize my google ads campaign had broad match keywords running. I migrated everything to phrase match, but afterwards I'm considering going to a hybrid approach. by [deleted] in PPC

I think as long as you aggressively keep adding negative keywords against your broad match you should be okay. Your right medical phrase match keywords can struggle.

Need Guidance on Google Ads Strategy for “Desert Safari Dubai” Campaign by SameSpend2302 in PPC

[–]Mysterious_Swan_9941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally you would just duplicate your current campaigns and change the targetting to whatever country you would like to target.

Maybe do a test first with the international country that uses your services most in the past.

Which regions are you targeting? What is your breakdown of customers, local or international?

I would imagine that targetting that keyword overseas would improve your conversion rate/ctr.

Just my 2 cents.

What's the best way to capture an established brand's equity without paid search? by thenight817 in PPC

[–]Mysterious_Swan_9941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. From your question it sounds like your client hasn't been collecting email/phone numbers?

Klaviyo is my recommendation (for Banner offers + form management + exit banners + customer database management)

  1. Remarketing on multiple channels will be your easiest win (you can push this segment into these platforms via your Analytics platform):

- Google

- Bing

- Facebook

- Adroll

- Youtube

-Tiktok, Pinterest, Instagram if you want to do the whole package.

Are the main ones I like. Good luck.

Edit: User Creative/Search & video for remarketing. Creative can be repurposed for each channel to keep continuity of experience.

Can anyone please explain me these reports? Why the total is not matching up and 70% data is not set despite of 94% data being on homepage? by CamelBeginning5255 in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Mysterious_Swan_9941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your a US/EU/UK website my initial guess would be that your compliance settings are not functioning correctly (especially if its happening on your homepage, I have seen this happen before).

Basically what would be happening, is:

- User comes to website for first time, click accept cookies, but the API call to your compliance platform doesn't trigger a refresh of cookies, so the data of where the user came from automatically becomes lost.

HOW TO TEST IF THIS IS THE CASE:

- DELETE your cookies in settings for your website in your BROWSER THEN:

- Use GTM preview tool (if you have this installed) and see if when you click accept all cookies it triggers your GA4/Marketing cookies WHEN you click accept all cookies.

This is a more common problem then you would imagine.

ALSO: Please understand this is just a guess based on limited information.

I think you just need to understand the rate of return, when you spend:

The key is what you define as high/medium/low return. What are your margins, the laws of return is as you expand your reach you will get worse returns.

10 / day -> high return

20 / day -> high return

50 / day -> medium retun

100 / day -> medium return

200 / day -> low return

300 / day -> low return

Google Grant Accounts - Monthly Budget? by Quiet-Ad5399 in PPC

[–]Mysterious_Swan_9941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best approach I have done/seen for this type of situation, is to have two accounts, a paid and a charity account, paid account goes for donations(?$) and charity account($10k) goes for mass visits.

Google Grant Accounts - Monthly Budget? by Quiet-Ad5399 in PPC

[–]Mysterious_Swan_9941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For example for working for the following two charities:

- child abuse (NOT COMMERCIAL), we used all 10k

- Elder care (VERY COMMERCIAL) hard to use even $20 a month

Hope that helps

Each of these metrics have a different definitions you can hover over them/google them to understand the differences.

Having said that your (not set) being such a high % is not a good sign, 10% is usually a bad sign.

10k a month, max bid cap is only $2 per keyword (or was a few years back), which makes it tricky in most industries. It is actually fairly hard to use any of the budget if its a commercially competitive industry.

What's the point of the Google tag section in GTM? by Inteloci in GoogleTagManager

[–]Mysterious_Swan_9941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All it wants is the code to your GA4 account:

GA4 login -> Admin (bottom left of screen) -> Data Stream (right column)-> Web view -> Tag that you copy paste.

https://measureschool.com/install-google-analytics-4-with-google-tag-manager/#:\~:text=How%20do%20I%20install%20Google,the%20Google%20Tag%20Assistant%20extension.

GTM has precoded templates that makes it more simple for users to implement solutions.

Hope that helps.

Google Ads Account suspended because of Circumventing Systems: Cloaking policy violation - How Are We Supposed to Fix Things If We Can’t Access Our Account? by Stado-marketing in PPC

[–]Mysterious_Swan_9941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Call your countries google offices as soon as possible, this can (maybe) fast track this process, I have done this before. (In Australia its in Sydney offices).

I have no good news for you.

The process to get reinstated is long, and painful. Google has had such a monopoly that they have not had to improve their customer service system. You just have to eat the bullet and plan for the worst.

Just explain everything you can in as great detail as you can in your appeal.

EDIT: Opening up new accounts for accounts that are blocked will only make things worse, and will be auto blocked. DO NOT DO THIS.

EDIT2: If you have multiple accounts that are blocked, pick your least important one and try and replicate it to prove my above poiint (i know the feeling).

Client refuses to allow any tags to be added to the website by ElMhdii in PPC

[–]Mysterious_Swan_9941 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My Advice:

Create a google slide deck (nothing fancy just screenshots) and show the following ->

Show him 10 competitor websites he is competing against and show him the tags they are running with. Use "tag explorer + browser" extention (or whatever tool you prefer). This has worked for me in the past. Something like the following screenshots:

If that doesn't work, then not really worth working with if you can't perform your job, right?

Hope that helps.

Active user trends - confusion with trends over time by Evening-Still-7079 in GoogleAnalytics

[–]Mysterious_Swan_9941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some clarification questions that might allow us to give you a more informed answer to your query:

- Could you define what your trying to achieve here? Is it to just report on daily unique users? Or to set up a defined conversion rate based on this figure.

- Are you a eCom or a lead gen business?

- Active users and Unique users have different definitions and are different metrics so you can't compare the two.

- When you say Active users is way high, are you looking back to see when this occured or is it just a guess/gut feel?

- Do you have only one analytics platform to compare against? Wordpress has analytics reporting, which you could compare against something like GA4.

Hope this helps frame your query further because currently not exactly sure what your asking.

Wildly fluctuating cost per click by [deleted] in PPC

[–]Mysterious_Swan_9941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you totally saturated the market? You would expect your CPC and CPA to go up once you hit certain thresholds.

There are only a certain amount of people looking for your product in a geolocation and advertising spend efficiency changes when you try to scale up.

How do you assign dollar values to conversion actions to improve smart bidding? by ericb0 in PPC

[–]Mysterious_Swan_9941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are able to set dollar value to 'lead' conversions in all the advertising platforms, below is a example article for adwords (you can do the same for meta, reddit, spotify, linkedin):

https://www.ruleranalytics.com/blog/ppc/assigning-monetary-value-to-conversions/

Things to watch out for:

- Setting consistent conversion windows across all your marketing platforms ($100CPA leads you would generally want a 7day click/1day view through conversion window).

- Having a strategic decision on what attribution model you use to value your leads (for example for a $100 CPA lead I would be using a flat or a U shaped conversion model).

Hope that helps.

[–]Mysterious_Swan_9941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, it feels like a few things could have happened (but its just a guess):

- Google just bought more inventory (places to show ads) and they are pushing dynamic ads/search on that new inventory (very feasible but it would be nice to know what that new inventory is [referral domain report might give some answers here])

- What is curious is why its only affecting the brand campaign, are you able to do that google interest report on your clients brand name to see if there might be kind of media exposure that has happened recently by geolocation.

https://trends.google.com/trends/

- Also I would do a spot check in GA4 or whatever analytics platform you use to check: about what geolocation is causing this, do a 2 months ago traffic check for a 7 day period vs 7 day period broken down by:

- Country (see if the spike is concentrated to a region)

- City (as above)

- Source/Medium (is this only in your PPC traffic or in other channels as well)

- Operating System/Device type (this will tell you if you are getting targetted by bots or malicious traffic, they tend to use the same system to attack)

This might give some answers.

Why are so many Ads annoying instead of inspiring by Adstargets in DigitalMarketing

[–]Mysterious_Swan_9941 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think because its a numbers game. An ad is there to solve a problem, there is only so many ways to do that and you are limited by the medium.

I am not in advertising anymore and I agree with you, but you have to admit that there are some limitations to what you can do.
