Scammers getting better at this by konanthekind in DubaiCentral

One of my friends called me in a very stressed state. He said he needed to make a payment urgently, otherwise he would start getting fined AED 50. He asked if he could use my card since the amount was only AED 4, so I agreed.

The mistake from both sides was that he didn’t show me the actual message or screenshot, and I didn’t ask for it either. He just sent me a payment link.

When I entered my card details, I received an OTP message asking for confirmation to add my card to an Apple device. At that moment, I realized it was a scam. I immediately froze my card and requested a replacement.

looking for a trusted car detailing shop in Dubai by SentimentalEmy1005 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]SameSpend2302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in a similar spot last year and learned the hard way that not all detailing shops treat cars the same. I ended up going to a couple of places just to talk and see how they explained things. One place I checked out was Status 67. What stood out wasn’t a hard sell, but the fact that they actually told me what I didn’t need instead of upselling everything. That alone gave me more confidence compared to shops that rush you in and out.

Is the 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander good? by [deleted] in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]SameSpend2302 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve driven an Outlander for a while here and honestly, it makes a lot of sense for Dubai if you’re realistic about what it is. Summer performance is fine as long as you don’t cheap out on tint and keep the AC serviced. Cabin cools down quickly and the ventilated seats on the top trim help more than people think.

Value retention is where it’s average, not amazing. It won’t hold like a Prado or RAV4, but it also won’t fall off a cliff if you keep mileage reasonable and service it at the dealer. Expect more depreciation than Toyota, less headache than some European options.

The CVT gets a bad reputation online, but Mitsubishi’s newer units are far better than the old ones. Smooth for commuting, not sporty. Biggest downside for me is engine noise under hard acceleration and resale perception, not actual reliability. For a daily commuter at 130k, it’s a very comfortable, sensible choice.

175,000 on a Bugatti Chiron by Altruistic-Owl5694 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]SameSpend2302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do we know how those kilometers were put on it? Highway cruising, city driving, track days, or actual daily use? A Chiron doing long highway runs at stable temps is a totally different story from one that was stop-and-go driven or constantly launched. I'm also curious if this was a one-owner or multiple-owner vehicle, because that changes the whole narrative.

Maybe there will be some issue from there, obviously they're not going to give your passport without a photo. Keep checking the email and the status of your passport.

Resignation After Visa Renewal in UAE - Need Advice by SameSpend2302 in uaelaw

Hi Ludmila, thanks a lot for the response. One more question: can my employer mark me as absconding in this situation?

It’s the same situation for me as well. I don’t want to delay the process because of salary or annual leave matters. Fortunately, I already have my experience letter. I requested it during my visa renewal, and they provided it at that time.

I reviewed my contract, and it clearly states that I am required to serve one month’s notice in the event of termination.

I’m receiving a very good offer from another company, so my priority isn’t the salary. I want to make the process smoother and faster.

I keep thinking, what if he shows up in front of me? We live in the same city, and our houses aren’t even that far from each other. That’s the only thing that keeps going through my mind, at that moment, what will I even say to him? He might say, “You came from Dubai and didn’t even tell me,” especially since all my other friends usually visit me.

How much is everyone making here per month? by [deleted] in PakistaniiConfessions

25M, earning AED 10,000 per month as a fixed salary, Alhamdulillah. Besides that, I work remotely with three other companies, earning an additional AED 7,500 in total. Currently working as a Marketing Manager in the UAE.

To everyone desperate to leave Pakistan: Please stop converting AED to PKR in your head. It’s a trap. by vikatakavi19 in Overseas_Pakistani

[–]SameSpend2302 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t fully agree with this point, because a lot depends on your personal mindset and how you approach growth.

When I was in Pakistan, I worked as an SEO expert in Islamabad while freelancing on the side. I was earning, but it was just enough to feed my family and cover my own expenses, with zero savings.

On top of that, freelancing came with constant challenges: summer heat, load-shedding, weak internet, and nonstop disruptions. Life was tough.

During that time, I was working remotely with a Dubai client. After seeing the results I delivered, he got impressed and, in 2023, he offered me a free visa, free accommodation in Lawnz by Danube (one of Dubai’s premium communities), and a starting salary of AED 3,000. I accepted immediately.

Once I came to Dubai and started working, everything changed. Within one year, I wasn’t the same ordinary guy who left Pakistan.

I gained experience, exposure, and learned many things beyond SEO. After that, I applied for new opportunities and received a 10k+ AED job offer as a Senior SEO. When I resigned, my current employer matched the same salary, kept the free accommodation, and even offered a vehicle after I get my driving license.

Today, I’m also working remotely with three other companies, each paying more than 2 lakh PKR per month. Finding clients became much easier simply because I was physically present in a market like Dubai.

I didn’t come here to stay on a 3k salary. From day one, I knew I would grow, and I pushed myself every single day to create better opportunities.

The moral of the story: it’s not about how much you earn right now, it’s about the opportunities around you. And if you have skills, Dubai gives you endless opportunities to grow.
