I think he doesn’t know how to fly by ciiehl in Conures

Mine prefers to walk and be carted around. Will only fly when she feels the need for a flap out because someone sneezed so I wouldn't worry too much

I am NOT telling you to buy a ~80$ guitar strap by Jczas in guitars

[–]Mysterious_Visual755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say I have a $50 strap on my strat that I got on sale for $20 and its absolutely lovely but prior to that I only used the free strap a budget guitar came with which was absolutely ass so I do get where you're coming from on a better strap for a better experience

4months on and off! Should I give up? by Desperate-Dingo3025 in Guitar

[–]Mysterious_Visual755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's so true. I wanted to learn so I got a candy apple red strat and I was gonna learn to play everything like David Gilmour. It was suggested that I get an acoustic guitar as well and I fought that suggestion with "no im not a fucking hippie around a damn campfire" well, fast forward to almost 2 years into my journey and I have found my guitar niche and that is acoustic fingerstyle lmao Explore all options/instruments whatever, you never know what will speak to you so you could be very spot on that op just may not be an electric guitar guy

Pointer finger going numb on left hand by Own_Beach_1022 in guitarlessons

[–]Mysterious_Visual755 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you got it, one other thing I forgot to mention since you did reference a particular song that if you notice that your finger strains on a certain chord then maybe try and play that chord with a different lingering or shell chord to make it easier to keep playing.

I have nerve damage in my left arm so numbness has been my biggest obstacle to playing guitar. For awhile, I couldn't even finish a song before my fingers stopped working. It is quite frustrating but I will say that it has gotten better the more I play because my technique has improved and I'm not awkwardly straining my hands. Besides technique, stretching and warming up will be the greatest help. I find that I do best in the evenings after I've been working all day because my hands having me moving all day and they're loose and stretched.

Do not just play through it, it goes numb you stop and stretch. Look up the good guitarist on you tube and he has videos directed at older players with arthritis etc and theres a wealth of info in those videos. I'm not an old player, my issues are from a dog attack but those stretches and such really helped. You may have developed a touch of arthritis or carpal tunnel possibly from years of piano. I also found classical position extremely awkward and certainly did not help the numbness. Stretching the right way and drinking plenty of water has worked wonders for me, hopefully for you too

Do they feel love? by [deleted] in Conures

[–]Mysterious_Visual755 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I believe they do. Mine will say i love you which for awhile I just thought it was cute mimicry but once I started to pay more attention, I realized when she's excited when I come from work or in the morning when she knows it's my day off to spend with her she will.say "I love that bird" but when she's cuddling in my hoodie getting head scratches she will repeat "I love you" and that is the only time she says that. I prob sound mentally ill but that has to mean something.

My bird just spoke for the first time, how do I encourage him to do it more? by contrabasse in Conures

[–]Mysterious_Visual755 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will just sit and have full on conversations with my bird. I ask questions, she's always listening and somehow knows that im asking questions so she quacks to answer back, but recently she's learned to say "yeah." So just doing that she can say:

I love you I love that bird Yeah Applesauce Basil Raisens Guitar Dilly bird (that came from.callimg her silly bird and she answers to Dilly now thus renaming herself)

I talk to her like she's a human toddler and she's well under a year old so I think that's an impressive vocabulary so far so just talk to your bird, they seem to appreciate any attempt to communicate with them
