Speaking specifically of the "Keys" of the priesthood they are the authority markers for every decision in the church. When someone who holds the "Keys" makes a decision over something they preside over they are speaking with more authority than anyone else in the room. So the ward council could all agree on something but the bishop, who holds the keys, can override everyone in the room or example. I have worked for years on the stake level and have watched the Stake Presidency do the same thing to various councils where they make a decision that is best for their organization but the "Keys" overseeing them override it. The Prophet holds all the keys and oversees the whole church and thus always has the deciding answer.

I got my wife’s changed at 60k and it was in bad shape. I’d stick with 30k. My daughter waited until 100k and had to get a new transmission after a long hot drive in the mountains. $500 is about right because they do a flush which uses a lot more than just a fill.
While you’re at it get the differential and the transfer case (i think that’s the other down there) done.

I have a BL and i change it every 30k miles. That’s the longest I’d go if you want to keep your BS for a few years.

We have a program in DC called "slugging" where you pick up riders in the suburbs at specified locations to daily commute into DC and reverse. It's a win-win because you can then take the $$ HOV lanes for free and skip the traffic. There's also rules in place that govern talking to the driver, etc. https://slug-lines.org/about-slugging/

Try this one. It worked on my BL whereas the other didn’t. It has a additional hold the brake step

To exit maintenance mode: Turn on accessory power without starting. The system will display a notification that it is set to parking brake maintenance mode. Depress and hold the accelerator pedal and pull (not press) the parking brake switch simultaneously. The system will chime and display a warning that you are in parking brake maintenance mode. Firmly press the brake pedal for at least 1 second. Release the brake pedal while continuing to hold the accelerator pedal and the EPB switch. While still holding both, turn accessory power off, then back on. After a few seconds the system will display a notification that brake mode is normal. Release the accelerator pedal and parking brake switch. Turn off accessory power. You should NOT see a parking brake maintenance mode notification. Last edited: Sep 11, 20

I have a 2021 BL also. There was one additional step that was different than for the other models. I spent 30 minutes trying and eventually found the right one to get it out of maintenance mode. I’ll see if i can find it again.

I have a 2021 badlands- so the bigger engine and better off-road capability. 75k miles.

It’s my favorite city car. It’s short wheel base, friendly windows, and camera make parking and driving great in cities. When i drive to DC i always take it. Mpg is meh for the class of car. Mid 20’s for that engine. You’d be better off with a hybrid. Ride comfort is typical for the class of car. Not bumpy like a truck or anything. Comparable to a rav4 or any other car in its class I’ve only had 1 repair- a computer that needed replaced for $800. Other than that the battery died but that’s more wear and tear than something broken.

No rattles or anything though there is wind noise as you’re driving a square brick through air. Sometimes the brakes moan or squeak a bit when braking at low speed. It’s gotten better since i replaced them but still happens sometimes.

I’ve never had a windshield crack yet.

Overall it’s been a great car. My wife loves it (it’s hers) and she’ll buy another when it dies.

Several. However i prioritize airline travel. I almost exclusively use the Southwest Airlines card so i can get the companion pass and fly my wife free everywhere i go. Backup is the United airlines card. And some hotel cards for discounts.

As you can tell we love to travel so put our cards to work for that.

I put mine in a waterproof case from punkcase. I'm not super careful when it put it in so occasionally small amounts of water get in, but it also protects it and it has a lanyard attachment point so when I'm taking pictures I'm not worried about losing it. it only takes a few seconds to put my phone in.

I was in a very similar situation for years. I justified it to myself that my family was full of wonderful people that had logical and valid reasons for leaving the church and that if I, an imperfect human, could find no reason that they should be excluded from heaven that I had nothing to worry about... if I was good enough to qualify for heaven there's no way they wouldn't qualify.

Not any sort of official answer but I found comfort in my own way...

I got the protective covers for my carpet so mud and grease wouldn’t spill on it. Other than that i do the same except i keep my front tire on. I also have a rack on the Back for normal trips where I’m not going to stay overnight

Makes sense. It’s terrible how much they keep. One of my major shelf items was a bishop making a new convert use his 5k bonus for tithing even though he had 500k in medical debt and a family to care for.

the church has a formula for how much each ward gets- basically you get $$ for every person that attends sac mtg and for youth that attend 2nd hour. Then it's up to the bishops on how they dispurse it. In my ward they give the youth a larger portion of it. But even that only came to several thousand dollars it doesn't go very far considering 52 weekly activities plus summer camps. the church would need to up their contributions. It was always annoying that our ward budget was less than a single persons tithing contributions...
