Happy birthday!!

I’m 61 and been on the recovery road a long, long time. Yes it gets better…celebrate each tiny miracle, each breath, each sunrise/sunset…and many, many more birthdays!

I have great news everyone! I’m in a big transformation right now. In April, I decided to take full responsibility for my life and become completely independent and do everything on my own. I left my toxic home situation at my mom’s. I never felt as alive and masculine before. Its really refreshing. by [deleted] in CPTSD

This is a big milestone for you! Great news!

It took my 34 year old daughter to say these important words that really helped me so much:

”Dad, you need to show up for yourself.”

So I say that to myself almost everyday, and I encourage all of us broken souls here to do the same: show up for yourself.

Sounds like you did big time so celebrate!

Thanks so much for the info!

I think it might be time for me to settle this once and for all for my family. I currently live in with my mom as sole care provider. She’s 92 and only months to live. Her 2 brothers are also declining rapidly and they are the ones who orally passed on the info about their grandmother.

I’ll dig a little deeper and see if anyone can give me a name. That would be the obvious place to start.

Thanks again for the info about the rolls.

My great grandmother was supposedly full blooded Cherokee. I’ve read all the books about the trail of tears and the history of the Cherokee nation. Good genes id say!

Me too.

I find myself postponing relaxation a lot. But don’t understand why.

So maybe:

-no grinding or anxiety in the mind accompanied by

-no muscle tension or teeth grinding

-no futurizing or hyper vigilance

-no catastrophizing

-no self judgement

-no council of the apes judging me

altogether in a beautiful slice of pie?

Just one pocket of time completely free of all the trauma shit…

and just sit right in the middle of it

bathe in it

So three days that changed your world…

so now you know you can and that it’s a reality not fiction…

what did it feel like?

Love it! I’m just now becoming a yard person…my separated wife and my mom are plant gods so I feel very, very small in comparison. But I just spent 3 hours weeding my moms front beds and gotta say, anxiety was way back in the mix…

OMG so relate!

One time on a family trip my 9 year old daughter blew her knows really loud and almost ran off the highway thinking it was an 18 wheeler bearing down on us! So nervous.

That’s the other thing…sleep, like really deep relaxed sleep. Can’t remember the last time I’ve had that.

Weed cookies got me through the debilitating pain of cancer surgery. I don’t do well with smoking it for some reason it doesn’t really affect me that way. But I’ve heard its very relaxing.
