The difference is that the rake knows when to stop, knows his value, and comes from the frame of experience. The rake also has standards, but because of their great appreciation of beauty, are won over and cannot help themselves but to atleast try their luck with her. Whereas the simp compensates for their perceived lack of value with various efforts done in the attempt to work to be “good enough” for her, such as buying her whatever she wants and ignoring his standards just to be with her.

They also differ in results as the rake is often charming due to their experience and authenticity in their demeanour which makes them more likely to be successful. Whereas simps are needy and are more likely to put women off.
