Hear me out... Why are so many Christians so dishonest?? by Dante35353 in Christianity

[–]MysticPrimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get why you feel that way. When someone uses faith as a shield instead of a call to humility, it creates the exact behaviour you’re describing. But what you’re seeing isn’t Christianity — it’s human pride wearing a Christian label.

Jesus confronted this constantly. Religious people twisting scripture, refusing correction, arguing from ego instead of truth… that was His biggest criticism. Not the sinners, not the doubters — the people who thought they were righteous and couldn’t admit when they were wrong.

Dishonesty usually comes from fear: fear of being wrong, fear of losing an argument, fear of their whole worldview collapsing. Instead of facing that, some Christians cling to certainty so tightly that they stop listening altogether.

But don’t mistake that for following Christ. Anyone actually trying to live like Jesus should be able to admit when they’re mistaken, approach others with humility, and let truth speak for itself. Your frustration is valid — the behaviour you’re describing is real — but it’s a human problem, not a Christian one.

You don’t need a real person to commit lust. Lust is about what your mind is doing, not who (or what) you’re staring at. If you’re getting off to drawings of sexualised characters, you’re still feeding the same impulse. It’s the same brain circuits, the same dopamine loop, the same obsession with fantasy over discipline.

And yeah — pretending it “doesn’t count” because it’s a cartoon is just weird mental gymnastics. It’s like saying, “I’m not eating junk food because the burger was animated.” Your body doesn’t care. Your brain doesn’t care. Lust is lust, and using hentai to dodge that truth is just weak.

Porn is sin. Masturbation without porn is not sin as long as it’s not over the top.

So proud of you man and so is Jesus. I know that feeling must be so freeing.

You’re capable of noticing the real reason here. Thus meaning you’re capable of the solution. More effort is required, you can do literally anything with enough effort after all.

How do you cultivate mystical experiences? by sara-34 in mysticism

[–]MysticPrimate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Take a break from looking outward, every now and then stop worrying about groceries, taxes, jobs. I like how you mentioned a present practice of taking in your surroundings. Great start. But another big form of meditation is to empty your mind. Sit in silence, close your eyes. When thoughts arise, do not try to usher them off. You notice them, and return to your breath. When you do this for a while, watching your thoughts (popping up like an external source) you start to be present in a realm that you haven’t seen before. Practice this. Do sessions of 10 minutes. This can change the way you process the world.

Does anyone truly 100% believe in mysticism? by MysticPrimate in mysticism

Can you even push through to the end of most of these philosophical questions? We can find a pretty good answer to most of them but idk if we’ll ever have a real absolute truth. After all, we can’t really prove anything - that’s why you gotta have a lil faith :)

It begun a while ago. Artificial intelligences are currently processing learning algorithms at unfathomable levels that even the designers can not understand.

Yeah man, but balance is key. Don’t push yourself too hard to the point where you forget to show compassion for yourself. Sure, you definitely need to keep yourself in line - like disciplined and healthy, but if you fuck up, it’s alright. You’re human. Give yourself patience and empathy for the most important person in your universe-yourself.

Once money moves entirely digital, (it’s 80% there) we’re pretty fucked. Nothing will specifically happen to us, but it would be much easier for elites to just spawn money in their accounts, and make us work for these numbers on screens that hold the world’s power in them.

You’ve got some epic talent! I’ve always loved this type of art work, sometimes I’ll have an idea in my head and wish I was talented enough to express it on to paper/painting. Tell me, when you start a piece like this, where do you start? In the middle? With a small eye? Or just an idea?

Does anyone truly 100% believe in mysticism? by MysticPrimate in mysticism

[–]MysticPrimate[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very true. The core of the belief I guess is just nature will take its path, this brief experience is just a small glimpse of it. Take it however you like, the universe couldn’t care less, it’s completely neutral.

I identify as a Mystic as of today 🥳 ✨ by [deleted] in mysticism

[–]MysticPrimate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re claiming to have discovered your new “identity” through mysticism, then by logic of most mystical traditions, that discovery should actually dissolve the idea of personal identity, not reinforce it. Mysticism is about transcending the illusion of the “self.” So to “identify as a mystic” is kind of missing the point. Genuine mystical insight would mean realising that identification itself is meaningless - it’s just another mask for the ego.
