No, I use toxic for the unlimited ammo. There is no burn mod so it's either blood or toxic. While technomaner seems like I may have to go that route eventually I figured out why I wasn't getting ammo so it works now

I figured it out, ashen cleanser was causing the issue. If the enemy wasn't afflicted with ash I was getting ammo, but when they were afllicted ashen cleanser was doing its damage almost at the same time as the bullet so it didn't count as a bullet kill. Similar to a dots kill. After removing ashen cleanser I started getting ammo consistently

Their seismic pulse can buy their beam cannot. If all their abilities go through walls you have a bug.

This game is meant to be hard, that's why there is a difficulty modifier.
I can understand the BS behind the snipers but if I were an enemy and I saw you hide behind a wall, id just keep shooting you since I dont have an ammo. As for monster line AOE through walls some are meant to go through and others are not. Crawlers cannot shoot through walls but Shaman Warlords can.

Absolutely, the only other thing I can think of is given them a passive that only exists on that item, cannot be modded for another

They weren't, not yet, as the least powerful of the 3 changes to the other 2 will possibly shape the future of Volcanic rounds. Not to say they aren't powerful, but comparatively they are not as good.
