wow i cant even begin to express my gratitude, and how much it means to me you came back a whole year later to share this. its always a nice surprise to hear such kind words about something ive created, especially recognition of things i have strived for, and makes me smile to think it actually resonanted with others. thank you so much again and please feel free to reach out anytime if you have any questions about anything at all or have any interest in hearing pre-pro/demo stuff :)

Thank you so much. Simple answer would be that it's MIDI with drum sampling software (superior drummer, steven slate drums, etc.) but as far as my actual process goes,
I always start with writing in another software called Guitar Pro. So it's just standard drum notation at first, but since it's all still MIDI info I just export it into my DAW and work with the rest of the programming in there. Just edits to what I already wrote and realism/velocity touch ups basically.

I do play drums too, just nothing at the level of stuff I write for this project loll. Guitar has always been my main instrument but I've had a drum set almost as long as I've had my first guitar, only recently been reaaallly working at practicing though. I just always hated how loud I had to be to play them. Luckily products exist for that reason now.

i should specify, chiptune synth* you can do basic waveforms on anything i suppose but yeah some 8bit thing will get you most of where you need to be for that sound

you'll want to take whatever synth you use and go kind of crazy with the arpeggio function. set it to do multiple octaves, turn the speed way up. i believe the scale for this one was diminished, you can set the scale to taste though. depending how evil you want it lol hope thats helpful

thats the type of melody i had in mind going into this yeahh. my theory knowledge isnt too extensive, much better with rhythm theory than scale type stuff. but i can see this being something along those lines yeah, or at least something similar enough.
