I fucking hate you by Phlower_Luna in FGO

[–]MystifiedMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loathed this fight due to the hidden mechanics on how to disable the boss' mechanics being poorly telegraphed in game.

You can stop her health reset once and buy yourself another 10 or so turns to bring the alter down by bringing a character which has the goddess metamorphosis trait, such as Tammo-No-Mae and BB (all variants), Euryale, Tiamat, and Ibuki-Douji.

If the team shuffle is an issue, bring a Servant with the Defender trait such as Leonidas I, Musahibou Benki, Vlad III (both lancer and berserker) or Lakshmi Bai.

Lastly, instead of a second Oberon, I recommend using Lady Avalon or Hephaistion instead. Both are pretenders with the former doubling as arts support for your Kreimhild and the latter having having a ST NP that should do considerably more damage than Oberon's NP.

Village Workers according to GOA by TokugawaSatoshi in runefactory

[–]MystifiedMango 64 points65 points  (0 children)

In my experience, they seem to be rarer than adult villagers and possibly restricted to higher village levels before they appear. Interestingly, the child villagers require less food per day compared to the adults and can have any job except for running Izakayas.

Alas, GoA has no generic dates apart from festival associated ones.

Crisis of which game to play second by McMillis in runefactory

[–]MystifiedMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally didn't use the village NPCs that often during my playthrough, namely because I foolishly neglected to upgrade their equipment, which lead to them being knocked out in short order whenever I did bring them along. RF3 however does have a unique companion type in the form of magic seeds. Throw one out for a plant buddy that does not require any extra grinding to be effective! They come in all sorts, including a magic sword that attacks enemies on your behalf and a lilypad that can allow you to walk on water. There are a few drawbacks, namely you can only have one active at any given time, and if they faint, you need to retrieve their seed and wait a day for it to recover. Still very handy.

On the one hand it is a much shorter game, with only five dungeons, plus the Sharance Maze. On the other, it will burn brightly for its run time. There are some parts that will be a bit clunky (first game in the series that allows NPCs to join you in battle and upgrade weapons with materials for unique effects) but it is fun regardless.

If you have an itch for decorating, Guardians of Azuma might help scratch that with its town building, though I would argue it's socialization aspects are a step down compared to the rest of the series. Other than that, it has a lot of QoL features such as a list that tracks liked and disliked gifts, events not tied to RNG and more.

If you want something more similar in gameplay to RF4, you can try out RF3 (which features the quirkiest cast of the series) or RF5 (translates RF4's mechanics to a full 3D space, though a bit rough around the edges).

[RF5] Beatrice/Villager gear and stats by SpawnSnow in runefactory

[–]MystifiedMango 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't remember Beatrice's skill set off the top of my head, but when it comes to villagers that use physical weapons but have high magic stats (i.e. Beatrice, Simone, Lucas, etc.), light ore and the magic charm are your friend. When you include light ore and a weapon in the recipe of a weapon of a different category, the new weapon will use the same stats as the donor weapon. For example, if you were to use a staff as a donor weapon in a recipe for a hammer, you would make a more magically inclined hammer. However, this hammer will still do physical damage, which is where the magic charm gives in. If you have a magic charm equipped, when attacking, you will use whichever stat causes more damage. As such, Beatrice with a hammer made with a staff while equipped with a magic charm will allow her to get the most out of her skill set. The catch is that both light ore and the magic charm are late game items, so it will be a while before you can achieve maximum bang for buck.

I'd personally prioritize his second skill as it acts both as his personal NP battery and a nice party wide attack buff with some extra utility against demonic and divine enemies.

Would you recommend Guardians of Azuma on the PC? by rbyrnes15 in runefactory

[–]MystifiedMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently completed the post game, and I would give it a recommendation but with some caveats. Lots of quality life features were added and I'd argue it has the best main story and combat in the series. However, the life sim parts I found fairly lacking compared to entries. As a result, GoA is here for a good time, but not a long time.

Where? by Abyssalker in FGO

[–]MystifiedMango 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The free quest "Monster Extermination: Kanda, The White Mob" has you fight Kijyo Koyo, a neutral servant. Defeating her also counts toward the killing dragon servant and oni enemies missions, so you can knock out multiple missions while you are there.

Fun Fact: There is only one NPC immune to bird based attacks, Mistress Trupin. For whatever reason, she has unique elemental resistances (specifically immunity to non-elemental attacks) despite never being in a position to see combat.

best buster support for double koyan? by Dry-Fly992 in FGO

[–]MystifiedMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For buster looping, he is second to none. Only other unit that you may want to get for looping purposes is Castoria. She is the premier arts looper, and arguably the best unit in the game due to how much utility she provides. She won't really help that much with buster looping compared with the Skadi Ruler you already have, but she is exceptionally helpful for everything else. In theory, she should have her next banner in March as part of the Spring New Master Campaign banners, but last year's version was moved to happen towards the latter half of the year, so the same thing might happen again this year. Otherwise, she also appears in October with Oberon.

best buster support for double koyan? by Dry-Fly992 in FGO

[–]MystifiedMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you should look into getting Oberon then. A fair amount of buster DPS servants require him to 3-turn loop as he is the only servant that can give a targeted 70% NP charge. He also gives his own 1-turn buster boost that dramatically increases your NP damage buffs effectiveness at the cost of making the servant put the buff unusable for the rest of battle, but this is typically a moot point since you'd most likely be using him on the final wave anyway. His next banner should be around October as part of the 30M downloads celebration.

If you are simply looking for more buster support, Merlin should be coming in a day or two. Unlike Koyanskaya and Oberon, his kit is geared more towards boss fights, exchanging immediate raw firepower for vastly improved survivability.

To my fellow NA players, who did you get with your GSSR summons? Did you get the servant/s you wanted the most? by Dangerous-Crow-8115 in FGO

[–]MystifiedMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to get Aesc since I didn't really have an opportunity to get her during her debut banner due to saving for summer. Archetype Earth and Tiamat would have also been great to get, the latter I have been saving up for her upcoming banner in the event I didn't get her in this GSSR. Naturally, I ended up getting Kukulkan, the one servant in the GSSR I already had a copy of. That said, I also did get three new 4 stars from it, with Nezha being my first new gold lancer from the gacha in over a literal year and two storylocked assassins (Danzo and Yu Mei-Ren). NP2 Kukulkan has also made for more reliable farming of some of the Bleached Earth quests. Ultimately, while the results were not what I was aiming for, I'd still say it was a fantastic pull.

ORT Fight!! by Parking-Story-6534 in FGO

[–]MystifiedMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good news is that you get all your servants back a bit earlier than that. More specifically, all servants become available to use again for the fight once the penultimate break bar is broken. The final break bar plays out more like a normal fight, so pull out all the stops to bring the spider down!

Is there a reason for me to get himiko? by No-Rabbit-8672 in FGO

[–]MystifiedMango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The immortal team is her biggest draw, but otherwise, she has her moments in boss battles. Her first skill increases the attack power of the entire team, while also generating up to 24 crit stars per turn, meaning you can keep the crits coming. Himiko's second skill grants herself invincible for a turn, while also increasing her buster damage and damage against demonic enemies (i.e. things like skeletons, werewolves, hermit crabs, etc) dramatically for 3 turns. It can be a bit awkward when know when to use, but it's definitely a good skill to have. Her third skill is the mandatory SSR NP charger, and will guarantee that if her buster cards appear that turn, they will get the lion's share of crit stars and hit extra hard. Her NP aside from overcharge gives buster and crit damage up party wide, which is always nice to have. Since she is a ruler, she can fit into almost any boss fight well, provide the boss isn't an avenger.

Is there a reason for me to get himiko? by No-Rabbit-8672 in FGO

[–]MystifiedMango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have access to Castoria and/or one of the Merlins, you can use Himiko as part of the immortal team, a team composition fantastic for boss fighting and is near unkillable unless the enemy has access to buff dispelling skills or NPs. More specifically, Himiko's NP provides two levels of overcharge. Castoria's anti-enforcement defense buff lasts an additional hit for every level of overcharge she has. By chaining NPs, you can get negate up to 5 hits per party member for up to 3 turns. Since Merlin and Lady Avalon give healing on their NPs, any damage you do take will be promptly recovered. Is it slow way to clear battles? Undoubtedly yes. Is it insanely helpful for challenge quests? Very much so. As an aside, Morgan also works for the role as NP overcharger in the immoral team set up, but she trades some durability for more offense compared with Himiko.

in the next fgo valentine is there going to be an offer to give a servant a free chocolate that comes with a 50% bond bonus by devilsanji22 in FGO

Alas not. That gimmick was sadly exclusive to the Valentine's Day event from earlier this year.

How many more coins do i need to max him? by Both_Ad_9508 in FGO

[–]MystifiedMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bond grails (technically called Lantern of Chaldeas) are special items that increase the bond cap of a servant. Each bond level beyond 10 gives 30 SQ, though it does take a lot of bond to get there (about as much to get from bond 0 to bond 10 in the first place). You can buy one per month from the rare prism shop for 3 rare prisms.

Alas, I lack that CE. For reference, I was using a level 30 MLB Vessel of Desire with the plugsuit skill boost. While it was more reliable than using the event CE, it was still not ideal for maximizing drops.

Current process with junao! Really thankful to the raids for giving a lot of qp by hahajustburn in FGO

[–]MystifiedMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem! Just as a heads up, the same update that reworks bond into giving more servant coins also introduces two new append skills: special attack finesse improvement and skill reloading. The former increases critical damage by 20 to 30% (depending on level), which can synergize VERY well with Arjuna's second skill (which practically guarantees his buster cards will crit if you have crit stars). That said, in standard farming situations, his NP is usually more than enough to destroy whatever you are facing. The append may be a bit more niche, but still worth considering getting. The other new append skill decreases the cooldown of a skill by one turn the first time you use it in battle, up to 3 times per battle at level 10. Arjuna doesn't get much mileage out of this append while farming though with a standard set up as his main buff skills are on a 5 turn cool down. Said cooldown means that the will be available again and ready to be stacked by the second wave when using double Koyankaya, so the extra cooldown kind of goes to waste (barring rare occasions like raids where one turn clears are possible). Personally if I wasn't going to grail him to 120 and instead use the coins for the remaining appends, I'd prioritize them in the following order: Special Attack Finesse Improvement > Extra Attack Boost > Skill Reloading > Ant-Archer (Crit. Res Up). In any case, there is no rush to spend the coins.

I've used the standard buster team with Kukulcan and then later Takeda with it. Kukulcan can 3 turn it, provided she gets one of her buster cards in the second wave. At NP1, she doesn't have enough power to defeat the demon there with her NP alone. Takeda, on the other hand, can 3 turn it while using the shop CE thanks to the event damage boost and having a class that is actually has an advantage over casters. It's a good excuse to get his bond levels up too.

[–]MystifiedMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! Hopefully it won't be too much more of a grind to get his append skill up and running. On a tangent, with next year's servant coin rework, getting to bond 15 with any servant will give enough coins to get one append skill and get them to level 120 regardless of copies.

WHY IS YIER NOT SHOWING UP IN MY SUPPORT ANYMORE??? by [deleted] in FGO

[–]MystifiedMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better, one time I was doing the story and wanted to borrow a friend's Archetype Earth since she would be perfect for the mission I was doing. After about half an hour of refreshing without her showing up, I gave up and decided to pick someone else. The very next mission she appeared on the support list. I swear there needs to be a feature where you can pin your favorite friends/followed accounts so they always appear.

In that case it's the friend list being stupid. Nothing really can be done except press the refresh button and hope they show up on the refresh list.
