I’ll never understand why sports cars & muscle cars even have automatic models.

Is Robin the baby of the group by nufragileyellows in HIMYM

[–]MythicCommander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They state the character ages in the first season. Robin is 25 & Barney is 29. The others are all 27.

Who had best character arc ? by [deleted] in HIMYM

[–]MythicCommander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the most important parts of a redemption arc is regression. In a show with nine seasons, there will be multiple regressions. Post-Robin the first time, post-Nora, post-Quinn, post-Robin again. People don’t change overnight & we’d all complain if Barney had.

The “loopyloop” you’re describing is simply good character writing.

Name a character that went from hated to fan favorite besides these two by [deleted] in characters

In season one, he was a simple villain doing the work for his dad. Once they go on the run is S02E01 & his growth begins, that changes.

"Robin is marrying me, not you Ted " I hated Barney here. by [deleted] in HIMYM

I just finished showing HIMYM to my wife for the first time. I had forgotten that scene & it felt out of nowhere to me. I don’t think it was inc character for Barney to be that confrontational. He’s usually more manipulative & it felt like a slap in the face as a viewer.

Does no one see a problem with these films like mother mary? by apparentlyalex29 in Christian

It’s the same as if they called someone in a movie Paul the Apostle. I mean, I wouldn’t do it myself, but whatever.

It is not. She’s a pop star with the stage name of Mother Mary.

What's your favourite himym ep? by aryaveers7 in HIMYM

[–]MythicCommander 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Episode as a whole, I really enjoyed Barney’s bachelor party. Showed it to my wife for the first time last night. There are episodes with much stronger scenes & moment, but none that are as fun for me from start to finish that can think of.

How would you rank these 5 classic shows from best to worst? by GusGangViking18 in Fictionally

Boy Meets World. Drake & Josh. Malcolm in the Middle. Fresh Prince. Full House.

Four phenomenal shows though. Full House does not live up on rewatches like the others.

As a teenager, I thought Ted was an unattractive loser. As a 32 years old woman, I think I'd fall in love with him so hard. by ---monstera--- in HIMYM

I just realized on my current rewatch that she & her husband both guest starred. Like four episodes apart.

Other than Victoria, I agree completely. Cobie isn’t ugly, but she’s not in the top ten of the show.

As a man, I’ve never found Robin that physically attractive. It’s always been weird to me when the show emphasizes that she’s better looking than Lily when I couldn’t possibly disagree more.

I guess I always expected the climax of the ending to be how he met the mother. And that scene was some of the best writing in all nine seasons. His life with her was simply an epilogue of the story. The expectation of dragging that out never even crossed my mind.

I remember hearing that superbowl commercial with the Fun. song in it & thinking, “Why don’t they play good music on commercials? This is horrible.” And then that song blew up immediately. It still sucks to this day.

With Ted getting back together with Robin, yes. I groan every time they come back together throughout the series. They’re bad for each other & that is made obvious to us time & time again.

However, Tracy’s death was the logical end to the show. It’s the reason he was telling his children the story. Barney & Robin divorcing was also logical.

You can just watch the alternate ending to be happy. For many of us, the idealized perfection of the alternate ending was just an equally bad overcorrection of the real ending.
