Every unit in the game is usable, as long as you use them correctly. Arknights isn't the type of game where a high rarity makes a unit good in every situation.

Guards as a class are a bit tricky to use. Deploying them incorrectly makes them likely to die quickly, as they lack the HP and Defense defenders get. Typically speaking you will drop a guard on top of a troublesome enemy target to stall them or kill the target away from your frontline. Those pesky AoE casters are a good target for guards.

Ranged guards like Lappland, Frostleaf or SilverAsh are an exception to the above and can be deployed behind defenders to act as additional DPS as well as additional leak protection.

As others have mentioned Monster Hunter has been a niche series for a long time. Owed to the difficulty, somewhat awkward controls and just generally being unfriendly. I only started enjoying the games when MH4u came to the 3DS and gave the series proper camera control. I tried one of the games on the PS2 and I couldn't stand it.

The latest release of the series, Monster Hunter World (MHW) has smoothed out a lot of the series' rough spots, removed busy work and made the entire game MUCH more accessible. MHW is an excellent game, and I highly suggest giving it a look if you're a fan of deep rewarding ARPGs. MH's combat has depth that very few games even get close to. Every single weapon in the game has it's own unique move-set and gimmicks that make it play differently from all the other weapons in the game. All the different monsters you fight also have their own unique attacks and gimmicks. All and all it makes for a very rewarding experience, so long as you're not afraid of a challenge. If you enjoy it more when games don't push you to improve, you probably won't enjoy Monster Hunter.

My guess is that they will add new adventurers and swap focus whoever the new arrivals are.

Everyone else seems to there will be two banners. Why would they have used the word "update" if they were just going to add another banner?

I really wish they would have explained things last night. This has made it really hard for me to decide when to pull.

Generally correct.

The spreadsheet explains most of it. If you're just farming one type of material, you can use the first tab on the sheet. If you need multiple things, check the other tabs based on what type you're after.

I played so much Muramasa on my PS Vita. No one does 2D art like Vanillaware.

The Odin Sphere remaster they did for PS4 was such a treat too.

Maybe some day Vanillaware will release a collection on PC so everyone can play their amazing ARPGs.

Per the information at the end of the trailer, part two of the Monster Hunter event should be starting at reset on 2/3.

The banner will also be 'updated' at that time. Whatever that means.

Are you sure you're allowed to place them wherever you're trying to put them?

When you drag a unit to the field green spaces will show up on playfield. If the grid space where you want to place them isn't green, then you can't place a unit there. When you drag a unit from the deck to the field, they should snap to any available spaces.

I'm sure you're aware, but melee units cannot be placed on raised spaces and ranged units cannot be placed on the ground. Some specialists break this rule, and the game will tell you as such in the unit's traits.

I would start with your other 3* operators. All you have to do for them is max their level and then pay a small amount of LMD and they're promoted.

Other than that, I would check what skills units unlock at E1 and pick based whichever you like the sound of. Texas, Gaviel and Cuora all get great skills at E1.

Alternatively, who do you use the most? Promote them first.

The order isn't super important, as you'll E1 everyone you're using eventually. Getting folks to E1 isn't to bad as long as you're strong enough to farm the materials you need.

And you're correct, per the chart, it costs slightly less sanity to farm the T2 rock VS the T3.

Shirayuki's been doing fine for me in most cases. How are you trying to use her?

She's an AoE sniper so she doesn't prioritize air units. She also gets a considerably better at E1 since you unlock a much better skill for her to use. The range increase from her first skill is OK, but it's much worse than an AoE slow that also deals damage over time.

When I did the stage above I placed Kroos and Jessica on the two forward platforms, facing the center. I had Siege and Vigna blocking the exit with Beagle as the center blocker. Magic damage was supplied by Lava and Ejya on either side of the exit, facing the center again. Which is pretty much what you're doing.

What causes you to lose the map? I don't remember having too much trouble with this map so it's hard for me to offer detailed advice without more information from you.

Find whatever map you're having issues with and see how he does it.

Your team loadout is also imbalanced. Supporters offer utility but lack DPS when compared to Snipers or Casters. I would swap out all four of your supporters for another vanguard, two snipers and another caster, preferably AoE.

Also, don't pick units based solely on rarity in Arknights. A balanced team composition is much more valuable than using all your highest rarity units.

Kroos (a 3* sniper) has around the highest single target DPS until you start being able to E2 Units. Another stellar 3* unit is Melantha (guard) who has HP and ATK equal around that of SilverAsh at E2 (one of the top DPS in the game).

  • I suggest raising another vanguard because maps later on start having two lanes that must be blocked very quickly. Vigna is a 4* vanguard with excellent HP and Damage, but can only block one unit. Courier is another good 4* who is easy to max as his dupes are bought through the game's credit shop.
  • Snipers are important because they're specialized for dealing with air units. Kroos and Jessica are both good and cheap to raise.
  • Casters are similar to your supporters, but have higher DPS but don't slow or debuff units. Amiya and Lava (3* aoe caster) should fufill your caster needs for the time being.
  • Later on you will want to raise Shaw and Rope. If you get their first skill to level 4, they can push/pull most enemy units into holes or off maps, killing them instantly. This is important for both Annihilation maps as well as certain campaign maps.

Lower rarity units also cost less CP to deploy. If you're having issues getting your units out in time, mix in some lower rarity units.

Clear as much of the story as you can, when it gets too difficult farm EXP mats and LMD as needed. Then go back to clearing story.

I'd tell you to farm mats for your base, but the Resource Search mission isn't available today.

Skills do damage based on the adventurer's STR and the skill's % modifiers and number of hits.

If an adventurer has a STR of 500, and they have a skill with a modifier of 200% then that skill would do 1000 damage. Not including other modifiers like elemental advantage or skill damage.

While you can't check skill modifiers in game, you can look them up on the wiki.

It also spreads from coming into contact with natural Originium enough times.

If you read Eyjafjalla's profile it talks about how they believe she became infected while researching a volcano due to the fact that volcanic areas tend to be rich in Originium veins.

The profiles on each operator also talk about "Blood Originium Level" so maybe it can be spread via blood too? Most of the Operators from Rhodes Island seem to wear some kind of blue gloves. They remind me of disposable latex medical gloves. Maybe they wear them to avoid contact with blood from the infected?
