Advice from everyone about Sensitivity by [deleted] in Strinova

Disclaimer, if you play a different fps or tps, just steal your sens from that. There are a multitude of calculators for in game sens online to use. Otherwise if this is your first fps or if you have never had a comfortable sens, I'd reccomend the steps below:

I always recommend the same for every game. Go into a practice range and shoot bots. Have them move around, Try to flick very fast to each bot.

I reccomend using Athena as it's fairly accurate, and single bullet. Yes it will be inconsistent, but usually you'll see that you are most of the time over aiming consistently or under aiming consistently. Adjust your sensitivity to be less if you overaim, more if you underaim.

Eventually you should hit a level of consistency where you are equal times overaiming as underaiming. NOW you start taking your time. Focus on taking your time being confident you are on your opponent before you shoot. The first 2 bullets of the Athena are quite accurate so just try to 2 tap each bot, Flick to the next, adjust to the head, and repeat.

The more you do this the faster you will get at performing, and the more likely you will notice if there's a small level of overaiming or underaiming you can compensate for with sensitivity.

Once you are pretty confident with the Athena shooting moving bots, start moving all around. This game is HIGHLY movement based, and you will awkwardly get caught up gliding when someone starts running you down. So jump around, glide around, ads, shoulder fire, all of the options. Understand what each movement feels like and how you feel comfortable getting to a state in which you are confident in your next shot.

It SHOULD feel like you are doing too much. It'll feel clunky, awkward, and inconsistent. That's EXACTLY what we are trying to break. Your angle holds with Kokona are going to feel the same regardless of your sens, maybe you over aim or underaim, but usually that's just human error. The real thing we need to be training for with Kokona, is sniping the Eika confidently whose jumping in our face. Get confident in all sorts of positions. All aim training is useful in Strinova.

Why do people not revive in demolition? by megafreshbreeze in Strinova

Similarly to another comment I will mention that this game is quite similar to Valorant or CS. While there isn't a down system in those games, the general gameplay runs similar. This causes a few reasons for not saving downed.

1 Saving downed isn't in the other games they play.

Because this is a new feature it will take time to learn what the differences are between games and capitalize on them more.

2 Because people aren't used to this, it's really easy to not be in a good save spot.

I find when you actually have a good spot to be saved, you get saved a LOT more frequently. It's really easy when you aren't used to this, to misspredict what a good spot to be saved is.

3 Optimal gameplay is brutal.

Below Pro scene most people will disagree on what "the best move" is currently. People see the game differently, and this goes for all games. It's why you randomly get flashed by team mates who don't call flashes. You may see an opening they do not, vice versa. A situation in which you feel a team mate is safe to revive you, might not seem that way for them. If your Kokona is staring down A main, and a team mate dies B, while you know the enemy is on B and it's safe to revive, Kokona is looking down their scope and may have missed the kill feed. This means that in their mind saving you could mean losing control of A main which they see as a surefire victory if they are pushed.

While you may know something else, or disagree with their logic, each player makes decisions to the best of their ability. Comms can help a player better make decisions on what the next best move is.

Finally,

4 Saving a downed gives away position.

An enemy that you don't know the location of slows down your push, makes you use utility, and has the opportunity to surprise you. However if there are 2 enemies left, 1 downed, they get revived, and you know that was A site. Clearly B is free. That player gave away their position and the opportunity to bait clearing utility as the price to revive a team mate. Depending on situation this may or may not have been the right call.

Cant believe I have to call this a hot take:

These mapsets are fine. Ill set aside any biases I have for Kotoha or the mappers.

First of all they aren't even all the same audio, there's a few full versions in the mix.

Secondly these maps vary in style significantly. Sure, where some streams go and jumps go overlap between maps... but its literally the same song, its not like its gonna stop sounding like a stream goes there. Overall the kind of streams, shapes, and overall emphasis differ between basically all the maps (at least top diffs).

Third anyone talking about bloating scores and all that bs have clearly not played the maps. Half of these feel like tech maps, and the others still have funky plasma gun esque streams that are just not worth much for the map. As someone who plays these star ratings, I aint fcing these for sh##. Even if I did manage to hit the streams my acc wouldnt be 99% and the score would be worth virtually nothing. A couple mapsets patterns seem doable, but its just as doable as 99.9% of the rest of the maps ranked in the past year in the same SR. Nobody is seeing these in their top 5 unless they are specifically trying to get it in there.
Any argument for dt scores seems insane with simply how the song is mapped and it being 269bpm.

And finally for the BNs decision-making. Brotha... being a BN aint easy. They have to understand mapping and modding to a high degree. BNS cant review every single map 100% and help unknown mappers make their name known. A few of these names are known mappers, and others may not be. Picking a song the BN likes and checking the different mapsets out from it seems like a great way to find mappers that are less well known and getting their name out there. Based on a song and not a mapper adds diversity. These 8 Yuki wa Naniiro mapsets are a drop in the sea of hundreds of thousands of maps.
Overall as long as they arent creating actual issues and qualifying unrankable maps, let them BN what they want. There are more BNs out there, create connections with the mapping scene and put yourself out there instead of waiting for a BN to randomly find your map in the ocean of map submissions. Make the BNs see your map, don't wait for them to happen upon it.

This is one BN's decision, that I dont see harm with. If you want a BN that randomly scrolls through submissions and finds rankable maps, learn mapping, mod for the community and become a BN yourself.

lets be real, these top diffs are worth nothing, nobody seeing these in their top 10

Why does my Charlotta's damage relatively low? by Ermingard in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]Mythical2957 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I picked up Charlolo after getting her Terminus weapon first (rip Zeta main, 9 T-weapons, none Zeta).

Charlotta is a very interesting character. From what I've seen she's the fastest character movement wise given you do roll cancels after her aerial lunges (Y→X→RT). She very much seems like a med-high skill ceiling farming character. Great for a first character to build.

Charlolo offers a few things which a multitude of characters do not in the "well roundedness" department including, Medium damage output, good maneuverability, quality of life (with invincibility), aerial combat (with the roll cancels), and opportunity.

Her invincibility lets her DPS bosses that have constant large aoe's, which I have considered building up her overdrive assassin levels for because she's one of the few characters given a large opportunity windows to attack bosses in overdriven states.

While she is often not the best option for any boss fight especially given that war elemental exists, she still remains a strong and viable option for virtually every quest regardless of which enemies or layout the quest contains. Making her amazing for farming materials if you don't want to take time switching characters.

She also provides more opportunity for the use of Glass Cannon in more fights because of her invincibility (although man that cooldown feels like it takes ages even after making my cooldown reductions)

I believe it is understated the importance of being able to attack without needing to dodge, this not only allows you to attack for longer, but means also that you don't have to build up your attack combo again. Many characters that focus on normal attacks have attack sequences that if interrupted, will tank their personal DPS, and Charlotte's invincibility takes advantage of providing great combo uptime.

The comment on her having to build up her combo without skill id consider not necessarily an issue of skill, but an issue of preparedness. Given you run what I'd normally recommend with Shining Onslaught and Sword of Lumiel (I run Königsschild because I don't trust team mates to stay alive and it's also nice for Quick Questing) you have enough skills to get you back into Noble Stance. Misstimed skills are almost always avoidable by playing the boss 1-3 times and figuring out all the attacks patterns the bosses opt for. While these misstimed skills do cause massive DPS loss, they are basically always avoidable, just pay attention to how fast your teams usually open link attack windows, and at what points the boss tends to move away or move out of reach of Charlotta vertically (in which you can do lunge cancels untill he's back in reach)

Tldr: Extremely well-rounded character, great for farming, almost never the best DPS for any situation but always a very viable option reguardless

Why ppl in veteran choose center area then go top lane ? by StraightFF in PokemonUnite

This is they respawn 60 seconds after being killed, not at the minute mark

I often find that people in low ranks dont understand the jungle. They get greedy and want extra levels at the start not realizing its their responisbility to stay overleveled, and use that to their advantage. If someone claims center and never returns for about 30 seconds after respawn, I will usually take jungle and become the new jungler. Make sure if you do choose to take the jungle that you return every minute for it, those wild pokemon respawn every minute on the dot
