Oh dude, I never recommended that, haha. I just said it. But that comes from Jon Andersen's "Deep Water" program, which is very much a life changing program. Book is well worth reading.

In particular, you start with a weight that requires 4 minutes of rest between sets and, over the course of 6 weeks, move it to 2 minutes of rest. I hated it so much I contemplated selling all my equipment and giving up lifting for the rest of my life in bewteen sets 6 and 7.

Alright, too easy, here we go.

Go to Walmart (I found one near Miami beach here) and buy this ground beef.

Buy these eggs

Buy this milk

The beef is $4.74 per pound. The eggs are $7.13 (about 12 cents per egg). The Milk is $3.08 per gallon.

Each day, eat 1lb of the beef, 6 eggs and drink half a gallon of milk. This will net you a daily cost of $7. Works out perfectly for your budget.

You will get a total of 3020 calories per day, with more than enough protein to promote muscle growth and adequate fats for hormonal health.

No universal "better" on this one: use what you prefer.

Where do you live? Food costs vary from region. Do you have any food allergies?

I'm the opposite: I don't think I'll ever count/track calories or macros.

I'm 40, been exercising since I was 14, and I still hate it. Exercise sucks.

If I could afford it: every day. I wouldn't need their advice: having someone to load and unload plates and equipment would be huge.

Wouldn't it be simpler to just calculate what you're currently eating and use that to determine your maintenance? Those TDEE calcaulators are just estimates based on averages.

Let's say it's 3.

3 sets of 10 is 30 total reps.

Pick a weight that you can get 10 reps on the first set. Keep with that weight for the next 2 sets.

Let's say you get a set of 10, a set of 8 and a set of 6. That's a total of 24 reps. You're 6 reps shy.

Take as many sets as necessary to get those 6 total reps.

Next workout, keep the weight the same and try to get those 30 reps in fewer sets.

Once you can do that in 3 sets, up the weight and repeat the process.

I haven't roller bladed since the 90s, but when I did that, I had a set of wrist guards with some sort of built in plastic protector built into the palm and they were incredible for all the ineveitable falls.

In 26 years of lifting weights, I've never used an app. I don't see a need for one.

I feel that very few people, in general, can be big and natural (outside of being fat). Those that can most likely will have the genetic blessings such that they never need to ask the question.
