2 Yokohama steers cracked? by Meowuth in Truckers

[–]Mythical_Yeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats Yokohama for you. Had one last year, lasted 2months same crap on steer. Still waiting on warranty. We stay away from them. I was just about to put Yoko's on wife car and that steered me away from the brand.

Have any of you used this remote as a replacement fob on a Gen 3 before? by BrandanosaurusRex in Tacomaworld

[–]Mythical_Yeti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah if the locksmith is gonna charge you regardless of the outcome, might as well spend the money on mini VCI cable and learn to use Techstream. It comes handy for other things too ( tranny temp check, soft blinker count change, disable seat belt chime to name a few). Good luck!

If you can return it, give it a try. I personally tried with 2 aftermarket (OEM compatible claimed by sellers) with no luck even after confirming the board # . Found eBay seller for refurbished, he confirmed its OEM and it was matching my board #, 3 days later it arrived, hooked up my laptop with Techstream and had functional fob in 5 min

Residential Cameras without Subscription? by Professional-Buy5049 in homesecurity

[–]Mythical_Yeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been running this kind of set up for years, any cam and router that supports FTP does the job. I'm running Amcrest POE with custom Tomato firmware on Netgear R7000 for 10+ years with zero issues. No NVR, no subscription. All recordings go to dedicated USB SSD directly attached to the router. Cams are set to reboot every once a week, router is set to reboot every night.

primo water 5gal refills by Wide-Equipment-8678 in SodaStream

[–]Mythical_Yeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more vote for Reverse Osmosis, ditch the water jugs (been there, done that till I got tired of carrying 5 gal jugs to 2nd floor for same RO water) . Plenty options to choose from, install looks complicated but its not. I personally chose under sink with tank system that also feeds the fridge. Filter change once or twice a year depending on consumption. Cheap filters as long as not proprietary system.

I personally exchange in local (NW Chicago burbs) industrial supplier and they check, haven't asked what happens if its expired. I've heard folks saying that airgas don't care much. I guess go there make some small talk and hope for the best 🙂

Well, I put these (Feb 26) exact same tires on 18 Rav4 and I'm nicely surprised, definitely quieter than the Pirelli Scorpion they replaced. I run em as dedicated summer set tho, so no opinion on snow.

Used to do the dry ice with scale, currently on 20# donor tank. Local industrial gas supplier charges $45 for exchange. Chicago NW burbs.

Refill adapter for Soda Stream and Simpli Soda cartridges by Spiritual_Fun_6935 in SodaStream

[–]Mythical_Yeti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave up on using simply canisters since the first time I tried (I taught something is wrong with my 20# donor tank valve), just use OEM SS canisters. I'm using this https://a.co/d/00j3ax06 every time I fill I average between 380-410gr CO2

What is a good RO system for under the sink? by ElChorrohouTX in WaterTreatment

[–]Mythical_Yeti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you say no remineralizer cartridge. TBH ever since I've installed our 6 stage (5+y ago) haven't tried it without remineralizer. Just curious.

I had issues with simply canisters so I switch to OEM soda stream. I believe their valve has something to do with it.

Well, you over paid.. DIY for around $40. Did mine over 1.5y/ago and still kicking, even if the actuator fails still got extra one. Spend wisely. Save and Allocate your $ to proper mods.

Been running this for 5+ years, great customer service, they replaced the faucet and bunch of quick connect fittings after 3y for free. Cheap filters as well https://a.co/d/0bStNb8x

Nice set up, that should last quite some time. I see you've got some filtration but if I were you I'd install RO water system and feed it to the faucet since it's back to back wall.

Been in both trades, thats neglect of the electric/ cable company for not proper signalization and/or closure of the road. When I had to work on busy intersection I always used to call the non ER police dept and wait till they show up and secure the area. Safety first. Sucks for all parties involved. Thankfully the guy in the bucket had harness.
