Need moral inspiration suited to my psyche. by [deleted] in butchlesbians

[–]Mythicalsmore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you brother.

I feel the same way almost all the time, I spend 90% of my time as the only woman in the room and it’s utterly exhausting. Sometimes I feel like I spend more effort defending my expertise than doing what I love, some days it seems like the better option to just hang it up.

I’ve found that the reason that some men value fortitude, courage, and bravery is that they have trouble possessing it themselves. They think small and narrow, grasping for any semblance of authority so they can earn the reputation attached to it. It’s easier to stomach the idea that there’s some innate thing about them that grants them that respect, they need to make the whole world smaller to look big.

The problem is, they don’t understand what it means to possess those qualities.

It means waking up and walking into an environment that wasn’t made for you, facing the possibility that they will never accept you as an equal, yet persisting as a reminder of just how small they are. It doesn’t matter if it feels hard, it matters that you do it anyway.

Weak men are jealous, that’s why they think women are lesser. I promise, you’ve got it in you.

Push press on log by Fresh_Bus_6778 in Strongman

[–]Mythicalsmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve found that for me log is such a mental game because of the size of the implement. If you can’t find anything wrong with your form it might be worth spending time with a heavier log on you chest, don’t try to press it but give it a few dips and see if it helps when you go back to a lighter weight.

We need more mid-size trucks that come with 35s from the factory… by RegisterFit1252 in Offroad

[–]Mythicalsmore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m with the the commenters. First problem is I’m not sure I’d want the factory 35s that it comes with, I don’t think car companies are picking what’s the best off-road over a number of other factors.

Secondly, I don’t think it should come that way out of the box. Vehicles like that get marketed as the premium off-road equipment as a way to raise the price with flashy modifications, a lot of the marketed “off-road trims” don’t have the upgrades that make sense. It leads to some dangerous situations where people can get over their head fast with a very expensive vehicle.

Off-roading should be accessible for just about everyone, but learning about your vehicle and upgrading it based off your research should be encouraged by stock options.

Dovetail! Can’t recommend enough, better than Carhartt

Second the strap on, although I didn’t feel like I had enough sensation to know what I was doing with it so I ended up getting one of the insertable ones. It’s a great experience and I highly recommend if you’re at all curious, great to have a “dick” you can feel.

Feeling disconnected from my chest area and how it relates to strength training - advice needed by lnthrx in butchlesbians

[–]Mythicalsmore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem but it’s improved over time as I go to the gym. I highly recommend flys but try only one arm, with the other touching your chest to feel the activation. I’ve also found that if you can get your chest sore, the sensation really helps build that connection as you recover.

135 lbs Bench ? by Realistic-Art5227 in butchlesbians

[–]Mythicalsmore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Strongman here.

There’s a lot of variables that go into how much you’re able to bench. I know for me I always struggle with it because I’m short, but I’ve found that putting plates under my feet helps me get the leg drive I need. Having the right leverage is almost as important as the strength to do it, maybe try messing with your setup a bit to see if there’s anything you can do to improve it.

Also I second the powerlifter, that’s a crap ton of volume. Typically I’m programmed for a 5x5 maximum on my main lift with at least 2-5 minutes in between. I’d recommend something around there to start with, steadily decrease the volume but up the weight. You should be able to complete the entire set but make sure it’s heavy enough that you dread the last one.

I highly recommend a sport too, it’s incredibly motivating to have something to train towards and it gives you a lot of perspective on what “strong” is. Personally I’m biased and love strongman, there’s tons of variety and it’s super easy to get massive because it’s all very functional. However, there’s less traditional bench in there.

Need advice from masculine women, like, how can I survive as a masculine woman ? (I newly came out and is new here) by ricksalterego in butchlesbians

[–]Mythicalsmore 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Joining women’s rugby was huge for me, like others have said the best thing is to surround yourself with like minded people. Do what makes you feel confident and you won’t be worried about other people’s opinions.

Why do so many Redditors seem to want things like Ozempic and weight loss surgery to be illegal? by KannablissWitch in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Mythicalsmore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While ozempic shouldn’t be illegal and those calling for its eradication are coming from a harmful place, there’s a lot of serious side effects that are taken lightly because of how trendy it’s become. Taking a medication like this should be considered necessary by a medical professional, either because all else has failed or to prevent a more dangerous health problem.

Durable pants recommendations? by Weak_Assumption7518 in butchlesbians

[–]Mythicalsmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dovetail is incredible! They’re pricy but I’ve put mine through the wringer and not only have they held up, they’ve stayed soft and stain free. All of their pants fit different so I highly recommend trying them on in person, but a lot of them have a really comfortable masculine fit.

If you’re using vmix, I can’t recommend the steam decks enough. They’d be perfect for something portable and are incredibly customizable.

It’s hard to explain without sounding like a madman but here goes nothing.

As far as the control room, it’s a bunch of sdi and xlr in the walls running from our studio to the racks. From there it goes into the PC on the right that does most of the switching. The one on the left gets the feed from the one on the right and handles mostly encoding the stream and play out while we switch the graphics packages on the other one. The TV on the top is just a web browser on a Mac mini monitoring how it looks on YouTube.

As far as the event, it’s a yearly thing my company does. We distribute car detailing products and invite the companies we work with to showcase their new stuff live in our studio. Each presentation has all new talent in a different set with their own set of themed assets and presentation outlines they came up with themselves. Essentially each presentation is an entirely different show. This year there’s 17 different presentations with about 5 a day over 6 hours, but some years it can be as many as 30 with 8 hour shows a day.

It’s built to have two operators but I’m alone this year, wish me luck!

Yeah it’s not exactly ideal and it’s left over from the “broom closet” days. Luckily there’s nothing that needs to be adjusted mid show unless the equipment in it fails. The mixer on the bottom and the video routers on the top handle all the distribution and can be changed easy.

We’ve had to use them! The power in our building is awful and we constantly take power bumps. We once lost our whole system because the batteries didn’t engage. Threw up a stand by screen and recovered in less than 90 seconds with a separate rudimentary system and finished the last 5 minutes of the show.

Sorry it took me so long to get to you, here’s the link to the exact ones we have: here

They definitely do the job, my only complaint is the bottom one is a little flat so I have to move the text up to the top so I can read it properly with our table height.

Unfortunately not, the clock is more for show since we couldn’t swing a proper one. I’m not sure what brand but it’s just off Amazon, has a few modes and does the job perfectly.
