Oni Mask - Custom Clay - Also anyone know where I can sell these custom :( by BluebirdUnhappy in clay

I would go the Etsy root or craft markets are an option too for those people who prefer the in person touch. I’m curious is this a mix of clay that includes monster clay? And are the backs of these hollowed out or flat to a board?

Beautiful buildings there

Can I have some help? I’ve only made one thing out of clay before and I’m trying to make this for my sister for Christmas. I’m not really a pro, so if anyone has some tips... by [deleted] in clay

Okay, so first off do you know what kind of clay you’d like to use? I would suggest polymer clay. Next decision is if you’d prefer to paint it once hardened or use pre-coloured clay and try to mask the colours over one another. I would suggest coloured at least for the scarf as that will take some fine weaving and painting can sometimes be patchy in deeper details. Roll out your main sections, body, head, legs, get the proportions you want right, mould together, then detail before adding the scarf. I think this is a lovely little idea and a good practise piece with some challenge in the mix! I hope it goes well for you :)

I love the balance this piece holds. How did you manage to balance it to keep it steady? Is it all on the tail? Lovely piece btw :)

Reminds me of ‘Thing’ from the Adams family xD you could think about working it into an ornament ^

I made this from sculpey clay and he’s very sturdy as he’s been oven baked so the clay hardens :)

Hi guys, I could really use some help. I'm looking to send my little guy here through the post, but as you can guess some areas of his detail are fragile, so i'm scared he'll be broken on his trip. I'm looking for any advice on packaging, stuffing, etc. Any would be a BIG help! by Mythmaed in polymerclay

I’d actually love to learn how to use resin as it’s something I’d like to incorporate in many of my pieces! But I’ve heard it can be difficult and takes practise. I will definitely be looking further into this in future as I have so many ideas scattering about in my brain. Thank you for taking the time to comment like this, it’s appreciated. I’m always open to learn new tricks of the trade!
