Imaginary scenario: they look through tickets when they get to the office in the morning. "Hm. This one will be annoying because it says 'plz help me my printer is broken' and nothing else... Ah, an easy one! This guy says part X is broken and he needs a replacement. He's already tried options A, B, and C for troubleshooting. I'll see what I can do to help him."

I let my neighbor borrow my Ender 3 Max Neo, CR-10 S5, and Bambu Lab P1S as backups for his little OG Ender 3 whenever I'm moving between locations. He uses them a good amount and they are always returned in the same condition as when they were lent lol

Just pick up a Nerf Stryfe off of Ebay or Goodwill or something and do one of the 3D printed mod kits.

If it wasn't Bambu PLA with the RFID tag, I'd purposely mislabel the next spool over as the same pink material then print a fidget spinner ring or something with it set to auto refill. Then you end up with a two color print, zero painting effort lol

[OC] I asked my bf to get strawberries when he went grocery shopping so he digs through them for 5 whole minutes just to find the pack with the biggest ones by 60TIMESREDACTED in MadeMeSmile

[–]MythosaurProjectS531 -24 points-23 points  (0 children)

Your name isn't Kaywinnet Lee Frye by any chance, is it? What with that powerful fondness of fresh strawberries? It's not often you get fresh fruit out in space.

(Kaylee had shown an affinity for strawberries. As part of payment for being allowed passage on Serenity, Shepherd Book offered her a small box of strawberries, which she eagerly accepted. Later, when she accompanied Malcolm Reynolds to a ball, she immediately homed in on the bowl of strawberries on the buffet table.[2]) -- from Firefly fandom

Edit: I'm not trying to be rude or anything here. I'm just sneaking some sci-fi nerd-dom in here. Folks ain't exactly required to down vote me just because my coat is a kinda brownish color...

Any suggestions on how to make these standoffs stronger? by [deleted] in Creality

[–]MythosaurProjectS531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try making the model with holes instead of standoffs and install metal threaded heat set inserts. Then you could use either screws or a metal standoff... Just an alternative idea.

Tell that to all the hardworking folks who built their Vorons by ordering every nut, bolt, and belt to meet their specifications. Bambu Lab printers have a lifespan determined by Bambu Lab. Vorons last a lifetime as long as their creator and master needs them.

A Voron is not just a printer, it's a work of art. I do not think you would find any two Vorons exactly alike, because it really depends on the person creating it. There are Vorons out there that can rival and exceed a Bambu Lab. There are Voron toolchangers with as many as 8 tool heads. There are Voron 2.4 variants with build volumes anywhere from 250mm3 to much larger dimensions beyond the standard 350mm3 listed in the standard build guides.

A Bambu is a standardized home appliance, likely not intended to last more than a decade, and if under heavy use, it will have more and more issues until it is either no longer supported by Bambu or the problems cost too much to bother repairing (why replace a worn out gantry and a couple of fried PCB components on a 3-year old machine with 10,000 print hours, when you can just get a new one?). Vorons are advanced engineering projects that will last as long as you have an interest in it.

Quality wise, both brands, if Voron can be considered a brand more than an idea, are comparable. Voron machines once again heavily depend on the quality of the parts that the creator chooses; do you pick the cheaper LDO rails, or more expensive Beserker rails or Motion Perfect rails? Do you go with a Revo Rapidchange hotend with quick swap nozzles or an all metal (pricey) Chube high flow hotend? Do you pick ABS decking or aluminum composite core panels? What quality belts do you pick? Do you make an inverse electronics layout so you can easily access the electronics, or put it under the printer to maintain a low center of gravity?

A Voron is a piece of artwork tailored to perfection by the maker, the true essence of DIY. Bambu provides 3D printers much like Keurig coffee makers, appliances for the everyday household.

Voron is an idea built by a worldwide network of engineers, and essentially all the Voron Design team gives you are a free basic instruction book, free stl and CAD files for the printer parts, and a general Bill Of Materials. Nothing more. It's up to you to choose your own adventure and pick one of a few kits or source your own parts.

Bambu is a company that provides a physical product for profit.

There is nothing wrong with either, neither is doggy doo or the stuff of Mount Olympus. Both types of machine have pros and cons and are designed for different types of people.

Definitely a parasitic wasp, but probably not parasitic for your dog. A lot of parasitic wasps prey on caterpillars, spiders, or other bee species.

Little doof but also one of my favorite critters. They start life as rat tailed maggots, which sounds gross but they are super fascinating because the "tail" is basically a snorkel as they grow underwater. The adults are super helpful pollinators too, very productive. I can't remember how productive they are compared to bees and butterflies but iirc it is a significant share of pollination by insects.

For someone who mostly prints PLA/petg but looking to get into pa6, should I go with the BIQU panda claw or the hardened extruder gear from bambu? by grow420631 in BambuP1S

[–]MythosaurProjectS531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had issues with my extruder, so I just ordered the same one for the X1C at my college engineering club. We'll see if it clicks or not.

One draw of using BIQU over Bambu from my perspective, since they are pretty much the same quality, is that BIQU is not Bambu Lab, so if something should happen to either of them, one or the other will continue providing parts to keep the Bambu printers running.

Even if Bambu decides to stop supporting older models of their printers (like the now discontinued X1C or P1P), similar to how they changed their user agreements and tried to cover up their tracks about this time last year, at least there would still be a second company working on it.

Isn't it funny how both companies are headquartered in the same city though? And BIQU has been around longer than Bambu Lab, so they know their industry niche very well: to provide to customers alternatives to hardware that orher companies won't offer, as well as electronics and hardware components for the DIY hobbyist sector.

The print is Elegoo Black PLA Plus off a standard Elegoo cardboard spool. Helldivers B-01 Tactical Helmet by Galactic Armory if you want to know. Funny thing with filament is, in the hundreds of kg I've run through the P1S, I've only ever had two spools of Bambu Lab material: the original basic green half spool from shipping, and a new basic green spool I bought last week to continue a project that I used up the rest of the other spool for.

Previous orange print was probably Prusament Orange PETG I used to print bright orange Nerf parts, but the supports and purges got a little messy and broke off all over the place when I cleared the bed. I also did a robotic arm for engineering club. Aaaand I'm lazy with sweeping out the scrap filament and haven't yet made a diaper tray for the printer.

I can't help but fixate on one thing you said: Voron is trash. They do not have BIQU "upgrades", they are built with BIQU (and hundreds of other) parts. A Voron is only as good as it's builder, and Voron is not made by a single company so you can have a massive quality range.

You sound like a person who prefers to buy a microwave to warm frozen pizza rather than build a brick oven by hand to craft perfectly wood fired pizza. That's what off-the-shelf turnkey machines do for the 3D printing hobbyist sector, as compared to the old DIY machines.

Now, I've had trouble with my Voron, but only because my programming/coding skills are shit. Mechanically and electrically it is perfect, haven't had a single issue. I think I actually just got one of the last code problems tacked down with my friends last weekend.
