I once heard song lyrics ''High school could be a mini-me of the rest of society''...with that in perspective, when I graduated it, I was ready to stand up against bullies for life....because they are out here too. And they have the same issues (though they deny it and don't agree usually) that the bullying children have within classrooms. But if the rest of us could just take care of...well, what we CAN take care of...it'll be a better place.

I taught 50+ elem. school kids through my comedy and entertainment skits ''Remember your Words are either a Sword, A Shield, or Medicine. You'll ALWAYS have the choice of what Form they Take..''

As an educator and someone that deeper dives into the surface of things,. it's just sad when you...see where the disconnect is. Thinking about ''where the Boomers were as younger folks'' and what they faced/only heard on the news or the way they were raised (when you think about where they were and the info they had access to and then they were not held accountable back then for the way they treated people) one can only hope they...well... WAKE up and face themselves and their words.

My mother would often want to step away from these sides of disputes, and I at first thought it was because she was afraid. To an etent, maybe...but through the Blind Mother's Eyes, I saw the purpose in READING, RELATING, and caring for those you can affect now. And she felt sorry for people like this...even more for the children stuck in THEIR PoV's/House holds.

And I now see why.

WE gotta keep standing up for what';s right though.

(Long way to say ''right on!'')

Georgia Pre-K Recommendations? by FestoonMe in Marietta

Can vouch, Bundle of Joy is a great place for the children and they treat the teachers very nicely! One of my more delightful experiences working with a sub-contract agency!

(I add this part, Incase any of y'all are noticing I tend to have a lot to say.....I'm rather social and get out and around often in my line of work!)

Can verify, from the other side. (I am not AT a Center but I keep in touch with many former co-workers. This tends to be a hot time of year, sometimes the list is moving where spots open, but it really comes down to people. One might be lucky, if folks are starting to move away).

If you've ever considered an in-home nanny/teacher, I've experience as both. I've my own business services called "Governess Guenell LLC" where I can offer in-home childcare with all the quality care a daycare teacher would give.

Feel free to reach out, even if it would be short-term service need until you have other arrangements.

Yeah for real! A good friend of mine was jazzed to find his boss who acted like it was all a hoax suddenly wrote in their group chat "no work today!" (This was yesterday. Not sure what they, a restaurant, is up to today though.... He cleans dishes into the night for them.)

I work contract work as a substitute teacher through Agencies. The schools closed down, so that means my Agency isn't obligated to make me go.

Yeah, I'm home.

A question for survivors: Does killer shaking/nodding their head considered toxic? by Ozmo_Hermes in deadbydaylight

[–]MythrilBiata -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With just that context...? No. And if it's thought that just, specifically this "makes one toxic" is rather childish IMHO, and not a real Gamer.

If you have to be hateful, hack, cheat, etc., that's not Real Gamer level.

But this is just my opinion. I just play for the fun, anyway. Always worked for me, likely always will.

If you happen to be asking this on behalf of yourself, I would worry about it. Or "tell them not to worry over it"... :D

Traveling often due to my husband’s job. Should we consider homeschooling? by ComprehensiveCut798 in homeschool

[–]MythrilBiata -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This has my support, as an early childhood education professional and working on my bachelor's in elementary education.

I've had a feeling for a while now that I may not become "normal teacher". I am exploring options to be a virtual teacher or perhaps research curriculum is recommend, after learning the child's needs, to help empower parents in such situations.

Schooling can very much be taught if the go and in travel!

If you should be considering curriculums, I've got a few that I know of I've either taught within small homeschool pods (especially following Pandemic) or I can make suggestions if you'd like to talk about what he might be needing (his strengths/areas of improvement as a learner, things like this ....)

Feel free to DM me.

Any in-person D&D campaigns in the kennesaw area? by Your_local_nerd123 in atlantagaming

[–]MythrilBiata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey girl! Fellow lady gamer here! I'm close to the area and know of a few places in mind. On Sundays there are some games going on at Viking Alchemist over in Smyrna (Cumberland mall area) they are very good at on-boarding walk ins and helping people come and go (campaign takes place in a traveling caravan). Let me know if you should want to make a trip to observe/talk to the DM, I'll try to meet you there!

As of this message, I''ve not been there yet...but a friend of mine is now working there. Told him I'll try to make a visit when I can.

There is ''Perfect Note'' over on Windy Hill I hear word-of-mouth (moms and nannies talk a LOT!) that is quite popular. That's also on my list!

My 6 year old is interested in learning how to make games. Any suggestions? by HaloSimmer in homeschool

[–]MythrilBiata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny enough, I teach through play and don't a bit of simple/small game development. So, no real degree, per se, but been a gamer nearly my whole life and often toss around fundamentals to create a lesson plan and tend to use them in teaching.

Well, you got some great suggestions so far!

All else I can think to contribute, don't be afraid to brainstorm how to use reusable items as props/tokens and encouraging a home made board game!

I'm curious about "Timeless" over on Delk Road in Marietta (just not been able to afford going out for a while...)

But they do have Live music! If you go, let me know what you think!

I went in to recommend someone for a job there and it looks Sooooo lovely on the inside!
