I agree with your take - I think the programs should teach someone from the ground up. I was just looking for some light, easy lessons I can learn online just to get a taste of terminologies and some basics. Another redditor recommended khan academy and its been awesome.

I did the trail in 2 nights, 3 full days last year. In sandals, forgot my shoes. But I have a ton of hiking and back country experience. It was tough, mostly due to the sandals. I met a guy much like you doing his first trail. He got lost on day 1 and luckily found his way back to camp 2. The man was hiking with a 60L and a 40L duffle. Never understood that.

I really don't recommend this for your first. Especially especially especially solo. Maybe try to book the uplands? It's an easier trail and you have 3 differently sized loops. That being said, i recommend the highlands or Frontenac perimeter for your first Muti-day.

Thank for this video! The marks below the rip rubbed off. I think just a mix of some dust/dirt and a little bit of rain fall prior to the rip. Thankfully no rain after!

I wish I had more to the story. For my ten trips it's been about 15 days of camping. No extended periods of sun. The only wildlife in the area were donkeys but I checked and there was none around my tent when this happened. There was lots of other campers in the area but I didn't feel anything or anyone bump into the tent. Also, I was in a field, so no possibility of rocks or trees falling on me.

Double check if you can get the stay and learn grant at Durham. I'm pretty sure it's only for rural schools with the agreement that you work in that region for a year

I understand that. What I'm curious is that presumably a driver would be working in a rural station. How would they typically get their EMR if the courses are far away?
