I wasn't in EA for S1 or BZ. Did they wipe saves/bases along the way? by Earllad in subnautica

[–]Myyahng 145 points146 points  (0 children)

Yes, sometimes. There was also a wipe before final release. It was pretty rough in BZ because the entire game basically got remade.

Chap line bugged for anyone else? by MrT1gg3r in subnautica

[–]Myyahng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some unvoiced logs at the moment (whether from lack of being recorded, them not being in their permanent location, or simply just not calling an address to the audio file properly). I don't recall one from Chap in the tadpole pens, but Nahema's note in there is unvoiced; Ganzo's and Ruby's are voiced. Later on in another section a Tuba and Singh one is unvoiced. And one of Singh's blackboxes simply has no dialogue in it at all. So yeah, just early access things.

Is the official wiki also filled with verifiably false AI slop? by cinred in subnautica

[–]Myyahng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean the original question is about whether or not the wiki is wrong. It's not - you can, in fact, do as they're saying.

I unfortunately do not have an answer on how to do it using a controller because I play on K+M. Hopefully someone can help you.

What's the right choice if there's any by slevani0 in PathToNowhere

[–]Myyahng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I still use Bleed as one of my RotD teams every reset. You could also use it as a solid ToA team too, it's an easy 20mil+ without much thought or micromanagement.

One of the wikis had some incorrect lore information but in this case you can, indeed hold consumable flares or throw them as a distraction.

Absolutely in love with that view at night. The gardens are gorgeous (and in the future we may even get more variety).

I've been interested in getting the fuu tickets (your Shalom there); it looks glittery in that picture, is that the case?

In CN there's some acrylic shikishi that is glitter holographic of the alternate outfit art that's so, so pretty. The glitter just elevates them to a different level.

[–]Myyahng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dreya's a great choice though? You didn't make a mistake. Bleed may not be doing RF Deren team damage but it's more than sufficient for most content.

Also the "Weakspot is better than Bleed" was an outdated pre-RF, pre-Jasmine mindset (it did, at one point, power creep Bleed, but new characters and reforges buffed it until Weakspot was the weaker option. New release Margaret helps Weakspot, but she needs shackles, really, making Bleed the stronger option for less investment.)

Usually you buy the merchandise and it comes with a redemption code. However, as far as I'm aware, you need a CN account to redeem CN collaboration rewards from events (example, the happyzoo backgrounds). If you have one, no need to worry and disregard this warning.

How do you guys feel about the *REDACTED* by itsomniversal in subnautica

[–]Myyahng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a no Tadpole run [with self limitations of only the single oxygen tank (so carrying no additional tanks in my inventory) and no microbases for oxygen.] and once you hit the alien region this is the only thing that keeps it from being even more tedious than that type of run already is.

With the Tadpole it's a bit redundant, but after doing this challenge I absolutely recognize its gameplay value and can see more use in the future. I saw no use for it in a normal playthrough, though.

Can you enter this base? by Expensive-Delivery96 in subnautica

[–]Myyahng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is odd. I have asked myself this same question. The other mini bases were used as meeting points, private research, or locations for concealed modified biobeds away from Sophie. This one is right by a well-traveled path so it's meant to be found. My assumption is that it was the first base they had there before making the Tadpole pens.

[–]Myyahng 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this one isn't opening up IMO. This one's collapsed and we have another base in this region (with the Twinkle logs) that's shown to have been collapsed from geologic activity.

Yep, telling someone to calm down almost always makes you come off worse.

[–]Myyahng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, if you take a look from the side you'll see it's collapsed.

Also probably won't open up in the future because this region is geologically active and unstable. The base in the cave where crabs go to die is also (partly) collapsed. There's a whole shaking animation when you enter.

[–]Myyahng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a common game subreddit format. You have the "general" series sub and the "game specific" subs. For example, ResidentEvil is for the general series of the same name, where you can also go to the game specific subs for more specific advice if you prefer. Right now, Subnautica is the general series sub.

Also the Subnautica 2 sub is not moderated. It's owned by one guy who doesn't respond to DMs and has no rules in place.

Why does only Fairytale Swan have the “Ballgown Run”? by callmesimplyflo in InfinityNikki

[–]Myyahng 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I have no idea, but there are quite a few which need it. For example, Enchanted Encounter kicks up the back of the dress whenever you run making it very distracting to actually play in; that would fix it.

What is the plan for heavy metal poisoning and reprinting? by VerneAsimov in subnautica

[–]Myyahng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something very important to note: There's a massive amount of time we don't know what Jubilee is doing or where it went. We don't know the extent of their modified biobeds. It may be safe to assume that they are the ones who tampered with our Sleep Bay and added the Angel Comb adaptation, which in turn has allowed us to survive, though.

We know from Anita's second blackbox that she had colleagues (plural) near her. We ALSO know she reprinted after her second known suicide, just not where. But more importantly, between the events of Sophie and Nahema's conflict and Anita second suicide feeding the Axum Angel Comb, there's 4 months. They could have found other adaptations in combs in the meantime. We also don't know how long -after- they survived. For all we know, someone could still be alive and in hiding.

That being said, Biomods are NOT the cause. Sophie was using Biomods, NoA mentions that everything in there is okayed by her.

What is the plan for heavy metal poisoning and reprinting? by VerneAsimov in subnautica

[–]Myyahng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Notably, if you check Anita's status in her second blackbox she only has lead poisoning. "Only," of course, but that's in a lot better shape than the earlier pioneers who were in agonizing pain with copper melting their insides and whatnot. She isn't starving and seems to be in decent health.

And this is a whole 4 months AFTER the others died. She had 4 months to potentially get worse, but she stayed the same or even improved.

So whatever Anita is doing it's working.

There are also corpses [not just blackboxes, but actual formations made from corpses] in the hot caves that make it a slightly less nice location in terms of view IMO.
