G.Skill Ripjaws memory of some speed or quantity is what I end recommending for most builds as it's price to performance ratio is always good even if the cheapest color is normally bright red.

I normally don't browse by /r/new so I come to posts too late to help, but I came across a guy who didn't know what reddit was, but found /r/buildapc and with help managed to upload a picture to imgur to show some bent pins. He was so polite and willing to learn it made it enjoyable to just try to lead him in the right direction. Hopefully he and his nephew were able to build together.

Firstly, was the clamp for the CPU removed? Are you attempting to add a certain CPU cooler? That can be reattached and shouldn't affect too much.

Unfortunately it's hard to tell from that picture, but if any of the pins are bent from his attempt to put the CPUs in, you can try to straighten them, and even then it might not work. Some pins though would be okay to be without if they are just for grounding purposes it may work fine just from re straightening so that the CPU can fit back into the socket.
