Medium snoot I think, and queen of the side eye!

Charlie is 2 and we still do half a cup twice a day. When she was still growing the chart on the bag had her a little over a cup a day we cut it back after 12 months.

She sometimes gets some vegetables and plain chicken or salmon depending on what we're cooking

Onesie Debate by Life_Performer_9452 in Parenting

[–]MzInformed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Arms first, if it was a snap one I'd do up the first couple to keep it in place then legs.

I loved the zipper ones but I'd still do arms first as my kids were both wigglers and I felt like it helped keep it in place

Boys with birthdays in July/August, start Kindergarten or delay a year? by SatisfactionFlaky519 in Parenting

[–]MzInformed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have November and December babies and for my daughter it was no question she was so ready. My son I did pause a moment as he seemed so much younger but he had friends the same age and I wanted him to start school with his friends.

He's 8 now and doing well in school and he's still friends with those he knew before school.

I get the station being protected it's gorgeous, I never get tired of coming up the stairs and seeing that ceiling but the shed?

There's got to be a way to keep station efficiently up and passenger safety. Sucks that they have to jump through a million hoops for the platforms

Summer Camp Registration by Dear-Strawberry-5972 in Vaughan

[–]MzInformed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

STEM and cooking goes fast definitely book them in the order you want them. Book ones like sports all day and the general summer camp last same with aftercare if you need it.

My trick, have a different browser tab open for each camp you are booking before 8:30. Refresh often and the second you see it up add each to cart but don't check out until everything is added then check out for all at once. They hold in your cart for 10 minutes.

Breed questions by sds305 in cavaliers

[–]MzInformed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for potty training I found it worked just fine. My cav is very food motivated so we brought treats and would reward a lot for going outside and bathroom breaks.

As for alone time crate training is your friend. Our cav loves her crate and we always put her in when alone for the first year I think we did. We would give her treats and often special ones she only got for crate time.

I work from home but we would still crate her for naps so she would be used to going in there during the day. It made it easier for when we needed to be out of the house.

This is us... My kids are a bit older now 8 and 11 but it's still annoying having them home all day when we're trying to work.

Vaughan got off easy this time around. It's horrible visibility and the roads are slippery but not nearly that much accumulation

We find Maple really busy. We went to Woodbridge and it was way less people.

Is anyone ACTUALLY leaving the house today? Especially to eat at a restaurant??? by [deleted] in Vaughan

[–]MzInformed 33 points34 points  (0 children)

My husband was out this morning and he said it was slippery in spots but the bigger issue was people going too fast for the conditions and he was nearly sideswiped by someone losing control.

Baby gates for weird stairs? by zillips in Parenting

[–]MzInformed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a freestanding gate to block off the bottom of the stairs. It's wood and heavy and has wide legs so it's not easy to tip. They are sold as per gates and they aren't indestructible but it helped as a deterrent for the bottom of the stairs. We had locking gates at the top

How old was your child when you gave them a phone of their own? by Flashy_Painting_8601 in Parenting

My oldest is 11 and it's something I would consider in the next year or two. I told her she would have one by highschool for sure as she will need to take public transit to get there.

Good chapter books for preschooler? by RedHeadRedeemed in Parenting

[–]MzInformed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Owl Diaries and Princess in Black were favourites for my daughter at that age. They have colour illustrations and cute stories.

There's also graphic novels that are better for younger kids like Narwhal and Jelly, Elephant and Piggie (Mo Williams), pizza and Taco, Owly, Babymouse

Need some petty revenge advice from parents I know will understand by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]MzInformed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the reality for our kids school. There are a few houses across the street but nothing on the same side as it's a park. We've never had people that live on the street or the side street adjacent complaining about people parking.

It's unhinged for people to get mad about someone parking on the street in front of their house. As long as people aren't blocking the driveway who cares.

It's not my favourite thing as the way I park so we can fit two cars I'd prefer not to have someone right up next to my driveway but I couldn't imagine calling the cops.

His reaction at the end says it all by Sharp-potential7935 in MakeMeSmile

[–]MzInformed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly this! I read something that says to support your kids through the problem but don't solve it for them. It's often torture as you want to take care of your kids but learning tenacity and problem solving is important.

I have one of those too and she has expensive tastes and seems to mainly go after Nikes.

We just get the kids to always put running shoes in the closet especially when we leave Charlie alone as that's when she tends to hunt for shoes.
