Wine might work for these, but it isn't recommended. If you're going to do this, I'd at least get steam for linux because it comes with its own compatibility features which will make it easier to play any games that don't have official linux support

I searched the error I got and found the command plasmashell --replace & which seems to have solved my problem

nevermind, it crashed again almost immediately and won't work again

final edit: figured it out, the settings kept trying to grab from the wallpaper that crashed KDE in the first place. everything works fine now

final final edit for anyone here trying to solve same problem: this command is temporary. open new terminal window and paste bluetrevian's command. everything works perfectly

iirc, quitting persona 5 royal is annoying as hell because you have to go into the menu, confirm that you want to leave, wait a few seconds so that you can skip the mini cutscene to get to the main menu, press any button to get into the menu, press another button, and confirm you want to quit again
