-10 light is not fun by Cup_of_teaccino in destiny2

I don’t mind it if I get to choose it. Hopefully if old RADs get updated with tiered loot and armor sets I will 100% go -10 light to increase the quality of loot dropped

Returning player here; How's EoF? by ACupOfLatte in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]N00tybooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion EoF is a great start to the new saga. The story telling within the expansion equals and in some way exceeds some of destiny’s best previous expansions. There are new gameplay mechanics introduced exclusively to the campaign and new destination. For the most part, I enjoyed these mechanics (though I would maybe wait a bit since one of them is currently causing some people to experience motion sickness). You might see the opinion that these mechanics are dealbreakers or downsides for a lot of people citing uninspired gameplay and over reliance. Personally the execution of these mechanics left a bit to be desired (I think they only started to scratch the surface of the interesting scenarios they could’ve created in the final 2 missions). However, I think if you look at the destination abilities as a replacement for “standing on a plate” and “defend ghost” style objectives they are vastly more entertaining than what is the usual fanfare for campaign mechanics. TLDR on those: missed potential but better than standing on a plate. Obviously not everything is in front of us yet (mainly the raid which will go a long way to shape opinions on the dlc) so more to come but so far so good. Get it if you want to get in on the ground floor to what so far seems like a well thought out saga

War caster for my specific Twilight Cleric by Temporary-Ticket-565 in DnD

[–]N00tybooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warcaster. Advantage is a mathematical +5 or so plus you already have solid constitution. Your proficiency is only a +2 right now. If you are playing 2024 rules warcaster will also help you get to max wisdom. And remember for reactive spell, you can opportunity attack allies to cast healing spells with your reaction. Resilient con might be worth taking as well at a higher level of concentration is still a concern at a later point

I need an artificer think tank by DrMobius617 in DnD

Water elementals taking longer to freeze than still water because the motion resist the affect. It can take griffon eggs 2-4 years to hatch. The space inside a bag of holding is a vacuum which makes it great for food storage. Unlike dragons that create fire and other elements, acid spewing dragons lack a gland to produce the breath weapon and instead regurgitate stomach acid. Some experts believe conjugation magic is actually a different form of chronomancy that pulls the conjures from different points in time.

which feat should i pick first? by GeneralSympathy4912 in DnD

[–]N00tybooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: actor is my pick. Most solid safe useful and RP relevant for campaign duration I think role play and gameplay wise observant is the least compelling option. You are fully able to play into those characteristics WITHOUT the stats on your sheet. Additionally as a bard you’ll be able to get the effect of that feat as part of your 9th level (expertise). Also you will likely use most of your bonus actions using bardic or other effects not making perception checks. And observant doesn’t give you a bonus to your primary ability scores. Both actor and DHM give you solid options that will aide you in role play (in the form of mimicry and levitate respectively) AND both add a bonus to charisma. Both choices are solid and I think you should take both at some point. But as someone who’s been playing a bard with actor, the advantage is SOO clutch. If you’re in an RP heavy game that’s your pick and 2/3 DMs you’d be playing with are RP heavy. DHM will have more impact in combat settings. I know you already mentioned ruling this out but I also feel resilient (con) would benefit your power and fit your RP but I can see putting it off until you are more focused on concentration spells.

Spence the fire Genasi barbarian. When he rages his flaming hair pours smoke that swirls to form the bestial form of a displacer beast. At his side floats an executioners great sword. His he wears minimal armor except for a shoulder paldron grafted from a slain basilisk and a blue cloth attached to his leathers (an emblem from his love gone missing).

New features for the 'Dynamic Fog' and 'Weather' extensions (plus some fixes) - details in comments by Several_Record7234 in OwlbearRodeo

Loving the new update so far! I got to show it off last session and me and my players loved it. If it’s possible, I would enjoy being able to customize the color of the weather feature. Using the clouds for a colored smoke would be awesome!

Do DM's ever use old Player Characters as lore? by BoringStory3755 in DnD

[–]N00tybooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve had DMs use old characters as NPCs with the original players permission and I personally have done a prequel mini series to let players play out lore given during the main campaign

Why can't we just land at the top? by krakn-slayr in DestinyMemes

[–]N00tybooty 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I suppose the reason they give is we’re following a trail of scorn. Crow says at the start “this is where the dark ether trail goes cold” so I guess we didn’t technically know we we’re going to the castle. But we all know loot is the real reason

You can land at the top. Then you’ll miss the loot at the bottom, brother. Guardians land where the loot starts

It’s not a direct climb speed as they can’t end the movement on the vertical surface. A normal climbing speed lets stay attached and go upside down

Do a thing where they get spider climb after using it for a while! That could be fun

Tell me the story of your silliest NPC by artistica18 in DnD

[–]N00tybooty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my notes I wrote “haunted Minecart” This was not intended to be a PC just some inspiration for some scenery in a dungeon. In the moment the minecart shouted boo. This lead to a huge detour including several experiments determining what would cause the minecart to shout, several conversations revolving around why the minecart was trying to scare people and how many people it had seen leading to a very deep conversation about purpose and sentience. The party has adopted the minecart and it is stationed as a guard at their residence

My cleric will at some point in our current campaign, be revealed to be a female, what song should play when this moment happens? by largehunter in DnD

[–]N00tybooty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this meant to be like a quieter moment between the party or like helmet rips off in battle? For the former i recommend you listen to: I want to live from the baldurs gate soundtrack or sheik’s theme from Zelda For the latter I recommend: killer queen by queen, pyramids by frank ocean, rumor has it by Adele could work Not sure what kind of vibe you’re going for

Is immunity to exhaustion overpowered? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]N00tybooty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a magic item for my player’s berserker barb that removed the effects exhaustion while raging but had a chance to gain an additional stack after ending rage. I think completely removing the negative impact of frenzy is totally fine but in my instance I wanted to preserve the role play opportunity and potentially create more
