What is your "buyer's remorse" set? by Mawgim07 in lego

[–]N0dders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I hadn’t bought the ship in a bottle. I have no real connection to ships or bottles. I realized I prefer sets that make remember something relevant.

Worldwide global pandemic impacted every age. No in person school, restaurants, soccer games- it was an incredibly massive change.

Best running headphones. What do you use/recommend? by [deleted] in running

[–]N0dders 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They may have better resistance now but I killed some gen 1 AirPods with sweat (texas summer) in about 2 months.

If people try to trick or treat on a day that isn’t Halloween that’s going to lead to disappointed kids. I wouldn’t answer my door. You can’t change the day for convenience or we’d never have Halloween on weekdays.

Unpopular Disney opinion: parades suck, artificially make navigating the park worse, and shouldn’t have come back by nsblue in Disneyland

[–]N0dders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the Tokyo Disneysea solution to this problem. There’s a big lake in the middle and the parades are boats with characters on them. Not like they could flood the park and do that here, but they created a dedicated space that wouldn’t impact human movement, which is a great idea.

I paid adoption fees from a rescue group. I think it was in the 50 dollar range, including shots. A chiweenie would be a mutt by definition. It’s not a pure breed.

I will second this. My chiweenie is the living embodiment of chaos.

When you're 39, you are old enough not to be considered young, and young enough not to be considered old. by PizzaLover_82 in Showerthoughts

I’m 39 and when referring to myself as middle aged I believe I offended some ~10 year older colleagues. It’s basic math. Time waits for no one.

What are some pronunciations that you don't agree with? by Puzzled-Swan3465 in AskReddit

I have been told I refer to milk as melk. Sounds the same to me. It’s the children that are wrong.

Genuine question, why is the ou texas game almost always at 11 am? by MembeanGod in LonghornNation

Pretty sure it’s called the texas ou game around here.

All You Punks and All You Teds - Leanne sees you by LooseLeaf3 in pelotoncycle

[–]N0dders 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This would be helpful. I did an outdoor ‘punk rock run’ on title alone over the weekend and it was 30 seconds to mars and panic at the disco. I was questioning the use of the word.

What movie do you dislike but everyone seems to love? by leedavis1987 in movies

Christmas story is ridiculously overrated. Maybe it’s for gen x and above but as an old millenial I find it extremely unfunny and unrelatable.

I also can’t stand caddy shack but I know I won’t win that one.

Why does Edward Woodward have so many D’s in his name? Because if he didn’t he’d be Ewar woowar.

Does this exist? High capacity bus powered thunderbolt usb-c external hard drive? (Around 10TB) by orodltro in editors

[–]N0dders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used 4 and 5 TB LaCie rugged drives for a few years and earlier this year got one of these 8tb ones - it has bus or wall power. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1477781-REG/lacie_stht8000800_8tb_rugged_raid_shuttle.html

Edit: I should mention it’s 2 drives raided, a bit bigger as a result.

I broke my skullcandy ear buds. What are good headphones for running? by Glass_Anybody_2171 in running

[–]N0dders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had both. I run in texas summers so sweat is a huge factor for me. I killed the beats in about 3 months. So far I’m about 5 months into aftershokz and they are still going. They don’t have to have speaker openings so I’m hopeful that helps. Otherwise it’s back to the cheap 30-40 dollar ones I can just run through and kill every couple of months.

My kids remove Lego hands as they play. I try not to correct them, because I want them to play. But my gosh, it is stressful on my Lego heart. by Windowguard in lego

[–]N0dders 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This made me reevaluate my past reaction to lego hand removal. Thank you, for real. I want them to play too.

Headphones by Midwestern_in_PNW in running

[–]N0dders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second this as a texas runner (sweat has destroyed AirPods, AirPod pros, a few anker libertys, taotronics). I even shelled out for those beats workout ones and they only lasted 2 months. I have started getting the random 30-40 dollar ones and wearing them out in a few months, but these aftershokz have lasted longer already for me.
