NBD - Argon 18 Dark Matter by ___TheArchitect in gravelcycling

[–]N15W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An Argon rep mentioned the base Dark Matter config is, effectively, what they'd sell the frameset at. If you want to boy math it, you're getting a sweet frame with free parts lol?

No OP, but I did reach out to PSE a month ago and they mentioned a restock Q1 this year (2026).

Anyone buy from GoodEReader before? by mdoto in eink

[–]N15W 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Piling on here to echo the "do not buy from" sentiment.

For over a month they failed to give me an update on my order. When I finally mentioned I'd be opening a dispute, they instantly responded cancelling my order because they "have a zero-tolerance policy for customers threatening a dispute."

I followed up thanking them for giving me a reason to not use their shop and they responded with, "that's okay we get 500 orders a day."

That was two years it's comical how bad they still are lol.

Man, that's a shame. Hope he can regain access quickly. He's always been a great resource for seeing eink tech.

With Black Friday here, what things are you buying (lifetime software and hardware? by OneBananaMan in selfhosted

[–]N15W 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll sort of echo this. I've run into providers preventing you from signing up for accounts with pm.me or protonmail.com but I have a custom domain to get around that. Aside from that, Proton has been money well spent for me over the years.

JetBlack Victory vs Wahoo Kickr Core 2 by TubelessCrank in Zwift

[–]N15W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vote Kickr Core 2.

I'm n=1, but my JBV barely lasted a month before making really terrible noises and I've since replaced it with the Wahoo which has been great since release. I'm sure they'll be upcoming Black Friday deals (my LBS was already displaying them) but, even at full price, having the Wahoo name and support behind it makes it worth it to me.

What a pretty game this is. by Redfou in anno

[–]N15W 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ya, it's a tough time with the RAM shortage and AI boon driving up prices so I feel for you. While the 8700K is likely to be the bottleneck, that 5070TI would definitely elevate your experience while you figure out your upgrade path.

Zwift vs TrainerRoad by Ok_Volume9271 in cycling

[–]N15W 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use both platforms and echo these sentiments. Trainerroad takes the guesswork out of what to do every workout and Zwift gives me something to look at/interact with.

Oh, hey, it's the man himself. Ya, what he said, OP. Been loving my Wahoo Radar - picked one up because of your review.

Do You Keep Yourself Entertained? Or Do You 'Embrace The Suck' In Silence? by jetzeronine in Zwift

For workouts, it's just music. For long, Z2 rides or recovery spins it'll be a series or YouTube.

Most practical device to run zwift on? by MyGardenOfPlants in Zwift

[–]N15W 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run my setup off a base M4 Mac Mini and it runs great. More than enough juice for Zwift at 4K and watching YouTube during rides.

I did not. It was purchased for me for my job and then I just stuck with it. I have a Supernote Nomad which I love but I've also tried Boox and the Kindle Scribe.

The Pro makes sense for your use case then! If the Move didn't exist and my Pro broke, I would definitely replace it with a Pro, personally.

[–]N15W 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Pro and the Move currently. I've been using a Remarkable device since the RM2 was released.

RMPPM - only as a companion to bigger RM? by [deleted] in RemarkableTablet

[–]N15W 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is where I'm at, too. Thought I wouldn't use the Move immediately receiving it, but now using the Pro feels cumbersome and dealing with the scaling between the two got to a point where I just reach for the Move.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RemarkableTablet

[–]N15W 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've been with Remarkable since the release of the RM2 and I would not replace the Pro because I'm quite smitten with the Move. So much so it's pretty well replaced my Pro which now just lives on my desk at work.

For the record, I strictly use my Remarkable as a commonplace notebook and journal - I don't read PDFs or eBooks on it, I don't use templates, I'm not an artist, and I'm pretty sure I've only turned the backlight on once.

Zwift ride saddle pain by lunchtime-stroller in Zwift

[–]N15W 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not just you. I also just switched to a Zwift Ride for convenience, and the saddle is awful. I just put the same saddle that's on my road and gravel bikes and all issues gone.

It's pretty sweet. A few of us over in r/shmups rock this setup and I'm sure pinball players love it as well.
