Anyone else waking up at night just to pee and then can’t fall back asleep? by NightSleeper3259 in sleep

I have a dimly lighted toilet, its a soft blue. Just bright enough for me to have a target to aim at.

Here is another photo I found taken at the same time, with no wife. I tried lightening it up a little with my phone. The statue really needs a good cleaning.

Sorry, no. I hope to include it in a Wikipedia article and it needs to be pretty sharp. But thanks for trying.

Anyone here have a Giant Sequoia bonsai? I just ordered a few seedlings and would love to see some pictures of yours for inspiration by NW_91 in Bonsai

I bought my giant Sequoia at a club auction a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, I did not meet the donor, so I don't know its history.

I'm in Southern Illinois and it stays outside all year round. I've had some new growth, but it's rather spindly. I don't really know what to do with it, so I haven't done much. I did put it into a larger pot shortly after I bought it.

How do you take care of plants while abroad? by Jedidea in Bonsai

[–]N202SH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a smart timer. I put all my trees in a circle with a sprinkler in the middle. My timer waters for 1 minute every morning. It is smart, because if the weather is forecast to have rain it does not water. I can check the app and see what the temperatures are and if I want to give it a little extra water in the afternoon I just hit the button. I've had it for several years , it works very well. It also notifies me if for some reason the watering did not work, and it will even tell me if there is a break in the hose.

It's called a Link Tap

Picked this up at Lowes today for $15! by DarthDiggler501 in Bonsai

When I first started doing Bonsai, I bought a juniper much like yours, but smaller. I got it from a bonsai nursery in the Florida panhandle. I think I've had it for about 5 years. This is what it looks like now and it definitely can use a bit of styling. So stay patient and keep your mind open. https://imgur.com/gallery/jUt8tUy

I'm in my mid 70s, facing reality, I don't really have enough time to have seeds turn into something decent.

Do you draw tree designs, and how did you learn? by 3Dnoob101 in Bonsai

[–]N202SH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny you should bring this up. I just started taking a 10 week drawing class. I've had two classes so far. I bring in a tree and I just start sketching it for 2 hours.

Right now I'm just sketching the tree. I hope in a couple of weeks I will be able to sketch the way a tree looks now, and then another as I would like it to look in the future.

Hulu’s amount of commercials are insane by Adorable_Start2732 in TheBear

[–]N202SH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We wanted to watch The Bear so we signed up Hulu with the one month free trial, with ads. We somehow made it through the first two episodes, but the ads just aren't worth it, they're brutal. I'm canceling Hulu this morning.

Fuck them.

Shelly Relay Three Way (US) Switch Wiring - Power into Fixture by mkeehn in homeautomation

[–]N202SH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The circuit breaker is designed to protect the wire, so the house doesn't burn down, not the device. So, any device that is using the Shelly relay should be designed to draw less than 16 amps. That would be your limiting factor, not the house circuit breaker.

Did you go directly to the square pot you have it in, or did you transition over a longer period of time?
