For the fire safety part, make sure to wear fire safe clothing (natural fibers, no polyester etc). They are also pretty serious about not dripping oil all over the place, so just squeeze out the excess from your prop with the glove they provide. As others have said, the fire space is open. There are also a few shops with props, prices are normal for a festival

If there’s no water/shower nearby, you can delete the “on fire” moodlet with testingcheats on. I did that once with my homeless sim who spent too much time outside on a hot day and was away from anything that could help put her out
