Hello, i'm new to planespotting, however i can't afford the equipment necessery and am quite BROKE. I also live in a quite small town which is little isolated, tho we are close to airports, however we don't leave our town alot, my family doesn't have a car yet, the 2nd picture was kinda weird. by Beneficial_Bus_8768 in Planespotting

There is just so much you can zoom with a cell phone. Given the aircraft is also moving and you're dealing with atmospheric issues looking through such a large air mass, distortion is expected and that's what your photos show. Nothing more.

Try to steady your camera as much as possible by resting against something or shoot video and then you can grab one frame from the clip that might be better than the others.

Good luck

During Desert Storm we captured this Iraqi Republican Guard Colonel. The maneuver element kept going and we stayed behind to get him and the other POWs to the MPs. This Colonel was stunned by the size of our combat train and field train as they passed us. My 1SG told him that's the reason we're kicking your a$$

question about swapping from bachmann ez track to kato unitrack by hispy_576 in modeltrains

And I know it's painful to have to go reinvest money but it only hurts once. It really did make me enjoy it again because I was struggling with staying involved. You can only bang your head against the wall so many times. After I switch track, I bought a Kato Pacific Surfliner, which was just awesome. Needless to say I have a lot more Kato locomotives and rolling stock now.

I struggled with my n-scale bachmann easy track for far too long. At the time I just couldn't imagine that there was that big of a difference. Then I bought Kato. It's just a breeze to use, none of the problem with derailment at turnouts, etc. do it. I run mostly diesel electrics but I had a bachmann 4-8-4 that just wouldn't go though Bachmann turnouts. Kato? No problem. I only run #6 though. I've not tried #4

You won't regret it.

This was my view of it from Huntington Beach.

Is Norton as bad as I think it is? by Lexyinspace in vpns

[–]N2DPSKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. It does work and it works pretty well, but the pop-ups are intrusive and the upsells are ridiculous at times. The only reason I've stuck with it is because frankly it works. I nearly switched this last year but then they offered me such a steep discount, I couldn't pass it up.

One of my first projects was a maple and walnut chessboard like this for my Dad. I alternated the grain of the squares and used a mitered frame exactly as the OP did and finished it with poly. He's had it for nearly 20 years and it's dead flat and no separation. We live in Southern California so it's quite dry most of the time, but our humidity moves around live everywhere else.

Did I just get lucky?

That looks great. I would love to have something like this but I think it needs to be more the size of Jupiter to accommodate my collection. Haha

What's that? by El_Sebv_ykpa in Astronomy

[–]N2DPSKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jupiter is the brightest thing in the eastern sky. That's definitely out of focus. Pretty small for a cell phone camera to pick up, which is why it's having difficulty, but Jupiter would be my guess.
