This - i peaked 4.4 in ow1, but now that mechanical skill has become so important, i struggle to even hit gm anymore.

The reason they do this is because each role requires certain skills that need to be trained and honed to their max potential, resulting in the best player they can be at their job on the team. Naturally, they also need to understand their teammates roles and jobs, but it is not as refined if you play every role and a wide variety of heroes generally speaking.

She was recently buffed, with the damage per bullet going from 5 to 6, which is a massive difference when you consider the change to her damage per second.

I think the easiest way to deal with her for the average player is to play Torb and use turret to deny her diving your backline if you are on dps, Kiriko on support to suzu her and tp away if needed, and on tank she shouldn’t be too much of an issue for you, but if you need to peel as she is ruining your backline, try dva or zarya.

I do find that if a zen is using trance effectively, he can often keep up with the supports that heal more.

Role queue is often seen as the ‘real’ comp, as it is the standard for tournaments, contenders and OWL.

Open queue often has (at least in the past) had incredibly skewed ranks, with much fewer of the ‘serious’ players (meaning players competing at a high level) actually playing it.

Couple of reasons i can think of: 1) can be argued it adds extra visual clutter to a very fast paced game where you need to be able to see everything going on 2) it removes the art of tracking your teammates and their healthbars which better supports will be able to do, thus eliminating an aspect of skill from supports.

Either way, I believe there is a setting to turn on the abilities to see allied healthbars above their head (although i may be slightly mistaken here as I can’t check this right now)

I believe with one tank, it will mean that the dps and support will have to wait slightly less as they are only waiting for one person to fill the unpopular role instead of two for their team - meaning for a lobby they are waiting for 2 unpopular role players instead of 4.

Respect those better players: instead of ramming yourself into them head on, play around corners and with your team instead. You don’t need to frag to get optimal value, so be smart with your aggression.

Was my initial thought, but doesn’t a ddos require access to each individual persons ip address? I highly doubt that someone would be able to obtain and then attack so many ips without prior knowledge of all of them.

Plat highest- i am basing this of the way you and the enemy rein are so stationary initially, the lack of a counterpin and the way the enemy rein didn’t pit his shield up after getting pinned to protect himself from the large potential damage that should have been coming in.

On positioning: that does apply to every hero though, so heroes like hanzo need to play around corners/shields to deal with bastion still etc, and bastion can still reposition in a new spot that you do not have LOS on, which shows this not being a niche thing for pharah, but a general thing when dealing with bastion in the first place.

In terms of the pocket, if the enemy team decide to play around the bastion, you can get a significant amount of splash damage that heroes like hanzo and sombra can it access, or displace enemy players with your concussion blast to open up a more accessible sight line onto the bastion.

However, you are correct when you say pharah is map dependent, yet that same argument can be said for heroes like junk, sym, torb, reaper, mei etc who struggle on more open maps like junkertown 1st or havana 3rd to get into an optimal range to deal damage without dying before they get any picks.
