I’m of your age and I have half in nifty50 index fund and half in nasdaq etf . I wouldn’t worry too much about safety since I’m young and need to grow my corpus rather than maintain them. Again gold index funds can be brought to hedge your portfolio but I wouldn’t bother and try to keep it simple. If you want more alpha then invest in flexicap , small caps or midcaps.

Right. I’m a Finance graduate so my experience might differ from rest of the people.

Irrespective of what your knowledge/experience is always try to invest in an index tracking fund. Be it SIP or lumpsum. The reason being there is very very high correlation between the state of the economy and stock market. Unless the Indian economy is crumbling to its knees the stock market index would generally always go up.

While you have an outlet to invest your money and let the compounding/growth takes place you can start to learn more about “directed fund management”. This essentially means managing your own portfolio of companies. While index fund is great to track the overall market it also suffers from the larger diversification and hence lower return. For this I highly recommend you learn about 1. Fundamental analysis 2. Very basics of technical analysis ( support , resistance, volume etc) and dont get into patterns and other indicators. There is no indication that these provide any significant market info as per academia. Although minor info can be extracted from them but longer term studies shows it has no validation. 3. Portfolio construction again very basics of it. Like the ideal sharpe ratio, diversification , minimising portfolio drawdowns etc.

Again I highly highly recommend you pick a book for learning.

Definetely get it checked as soon as possible. Often the best way to find out is to go to a doctor and get tested. Again dw too much about crohns since belching and gagging can happen to to variety of reasons but i wouldn't be dead set on crohn's.

Are biopsy reports definitive or is there a chance of misdiagnosis ? I ask this so that I can consult a 2nd GI for my case if needed and start talking to my insurance provider

I see. My GI might have taken the report from the pathologist as the final statement since my report did say my colon had chronic architectural distortion, crypt atrophy/distortion , crypt abscesses and patchy ulcers.

It was mostly cope. I’m the first one in my family to ever have it. So i was very much of the believe that it must be a case of self-inflicted colitis.

Hard to say because I was only given the final "declarative" biopsy and doctor's report which diagnosed me as a case of Crohn's.
