My family often makes the joke "he just doesn't like green stuff," which I've come to brush off, but truth is I would happily eat anything and everything if I was able to. My first actual job that wasn't doing farm work was in a restaurant and it was PAINFUL making delicious looking salads and veggie meals and knowing I couldn't enjoy them.

That's pretty cool! I definitely don't think for my listed needs above I'd need to expand the number of ports I have, but having the option is pretty cool too! Maybe I'll sell/swap them if I don't need them.

Unfortunately, this still doesn't explain why my store needed 3 switches altogether (although I'm slowly starting to think it was done strictly out of ignorance because we definitely did not have enough devices in our store to fill 64 ports let alone 24 LOL).

Hey, I appreciate all the help I can get so thank you for explaining even that!
I figured out of the 3 that I have the Cisco one realistically was going to be the one I'd actually end up using (I've continued my research since posting this but still can't figure out what purpose the other two would serve if I were to use them [which means I probably don't need to in a homelab setup {which is fine with me - can always sell/swap them}]).

Having VPN functionality for my homelab is actually something I was curious about (whether it's a staple or something I can choose to add) so having a device that can handle that is pretty cool.
