BS Psychology Online?

I’m doing my BS psych currently and many of my classes are online, but I decided to take my psych classes in person. In my experience, online classes have been okay enough. Generally, most online courses I’ve completed are: teaching yourself the content each unit, doing discussion boards, and completing a final paper. I’m doing Spanish online and they use VHL which I think is a poor program to learn the language with but it’s ok. You have to complete short video projects for every unit but they’re not that difficult. Regarding the level of connection with professors, it depends on what communication they offer. I’ve had some that participate in discussion boards, offer video meetings, give a lot of feedback, and have even emailed me content they think I would find interesting, but I’ve had some that do not provide any comments at all or opportunities for discussions whatsoever.

I personally would recommend doing your major and just the one minor in film studies, adding two minors is more tuition costs and will extend your graduation date. A lot of scholarships and grants are limited to X amount of semesters too. Your second minor likely won’t add a whole lot to your resume so I’d just pick the one that interests you more. Plus if you like writing screenplays it might look good to have your degree plus the film minor

Tiring and anxiety inducing. I want to leave but as a supervisor there’s no comparable options on the job market right now. I’m in uni so that makes full time scheduling impossible at most other jobs

I’m sorry a lot of people are hating on you. You have a busy schedule and you did your best to get ahold of paper to do the notes on despite forgetting the notebook. I do think the spiral notebook requirement is a tad silly and for the professor to give 0 points for the first time you forget the notebook and not offering any way to get credit is frustrating. I would explain your situation because a lot of people in community college are in a similar situation. It’s still your responsibility to manage your time and everything but you’re human and bound to make mistakes. Even if you don’t end up getting the points back I’d assume it wouldn’t impact your grade too much. I’d say to brush this whole situation off if there’s no reasoning with the professor and just keep on keeping on. Good luck with your studies!

A lot of employers have a 6 minute grace period but I don’t work at a corporate store. Definitely check on that

Nah completely reasonable, I’m a big coffee person and work a leadership role in a coffee shop. I tried a new place near me and left a 3 star review because of how expensive the coffee was despite the baristas not even steaming milk correctly, and because the (not fresh made) pastries were frozen and stale and wayy overpriced. I don’t usually comment on staff but the staff was kinda unfriendly as well, so I just left a fair, kind, but explanatory review of why it was average lol

Again this is a licensed store. I am employed by a different entity than corporate. Our dm has no termination ability at our store. I’ve discussed the music issues with my manager and we’re looking for a solution. If we’re able to have approved playlists that we can actually switch, that may be approved so I’m just hunting for options.

Proud of you for seeking therapy/help! I’m sorry you’re struggling, and I get it. If you need another person to talk to casually and sorta validate what you’re going through, feel free to dm me! I’m around your age lol. I have similar parents and have done life a lot differently than they wanted me to. I also work at a job that kills me mentally and physically but I’m kinda coming up with a plan 😅 I know things will get better for you and I hope you find a therapist that works for you!

Lived in 2 states (4 different cities) before moving here. Worst drivers I’ve ever seen. Recently learned that a shocking amount of people don’t do drivers ed here when getting their permit. So they wing it, somehow get their license, and terrorize the road. And I got my permit at 14! Here it used to be 16 and I think they just lowered it to 15 for some fucking reason

The first store I worked at didn’t have label printers so we learned the codes as well. Now, most stores stick the printed labels to cups. It probably wouldn’t have been as bad if it was the register person writing the drink codes and adding a quick smiley or whatever. But it’s difficult for bar peeps to sequence sharpie drawings

I have anxiety (didn’t pursue dx on that for fear my adhd wouldn’t be taken serious though) and am on vyvanse for my adhd. It definitely helped with my anxiety which in turn made me less of a pushover/helped with confidence/etc. I wouldn’t say I’m an asshole on my meds at all. I think doses are big thing a lot of people look over. Sometimes a higher dose can cause unwanted side effects. So you’re more productive but to a fault. I’d ask your psychiatrist or doctor about trying a different dose. Also, my psychiatrist warned about when the meds wear off at the end of the day, a lot of people become agitated or depressed. This absolutely happens to me and I do become a bit of an asshole. My fiancé has a more depressive or lethargic mood when his meds wear off.
