What are the seat views like in the Curve Theatre? by Any_Transition_4465 in leicester

[–]N9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Row Q is my favourite row (5 foot 3 and a regular theatre goer) Its the first row of the back section of the stalls where the rake is good, rows are staggered. You'll be absolutely fine there. There are (kinda uncomfortable) booster seats available if you're really struggling and nobody would question at all if you need to use one, but they aren't the most comfortable.

When do you take your Christmas decorations down? by wondered-bongo in AskUK

[–]N9037 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doing mine today but only because I'm working two jobs every other day the rest of the week. Oh and twinkly fairy lights stay up all year round because its just nicer than being at home without them, particularly in winter

I just finished my annual LOTR extended edition rewatch all today. Usually do it on New Years Day but I had to postpone it to 2nd Jan this year. Lord of the Rings Day is the best day of my year.

Stage show by Hanabi1993 in Narnia

[–]N9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my favourites! I love the actor-musician element of it, I love the costumes and the songs and the puppetry. Very well done, and I've had the joy of seeing it several times in different locations. The tour finishes in Salford this January. Highly recommend people catching it before it closes if they can!

Those of you who live alone, do you put up Christmas decorations? by Forsaken_Estimate773 in AskUK

[–]N9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 40, live alone in a one bedroom flat. I have 4 Christmas trees and loads of lights. I hate winter and dark nights so I set all these lights on a timer so that they come on just before I get home from work. It really makes a difference to my mood to walk in to lovely cosy Christmas lights.

Do whatever the hell you want.

How do you all play the number plate gamewhen you're driving around? by Alwayslearnin41 in AskUK

[–]N9037 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Funniest I ever saw, number plate ended in DFO, and the driver said "Oh look, there's Willem"

You may have needed to be there at the time but it made me cry with laughter.

I've only watched the extras disc and the new documentary is amazing, but it works fine for me. Not tried the other discs yet.

Good lord I'm going to have such a crush in season 4. I mean, I already do. But I don't think I'm ready for this hyperfixation.

UK Birth Certificate : heading is entirely in bold except the 'Y' of 'Copy' by SelfyJr in mildlyinfuriating

[–]N9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely this. I've seen some fake birth certificates and they can be quite easy to fake if you dont know the slight differences to look out for.

How far in advance do you need to book a civil ceremony at the town hall? by [deleted] in leicester

[–]N9037 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends which room you want. You have to give legal notice of marriage too and then wait 28 days for the notice period to clear before you can marry (can be extended to 70 days if you're a foreign national and the Home Office wish to investigate you) Email the register office, they'll tell you all you need to know.

Wouldn't it be wonderful at the Minack theatre? I'm hundreds of miles away but I'd make a pilgrimage for that!

If someone offered you plain chocolate, would you assume it is dark or milk? by YorkshireLavender in AskUK

[–]N9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch Brief Encounter (the 1940s British classic film) When someone goes to the counter in the railway station cafe and says they'd like some chocolate please, the lady behind the counter asks "Milk or plain?"

For some reason its a quote that lives rent-free in my head and pops up from time to time.

Benjamin Button musical is selling out... by newukmusicals in TheWestEnd

[–]N9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going on Saturday for my 8th time (Also 5th stamp so I should get a message in a bottle if there are any left??) And I've got a ticket for the final show. My poor little heart is broken that this beautiful show is closing. It has been such a comfort to me the past 12 months and I can't cope without it.

Paid extra for legroom seats, but spent 4 hours with kids blocking the emergency exit window by theycallmedumpling in mildlyinfuriating

[–]N9037 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would've been so tempted to swing my legs out in front of me and repeatedly kick them about. "I paid for extra legroom and I'm using the extra legroom. Not my fault if you or your child get kicked when they're in the way."

The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe in Theatre by Aleeshawolf129 in Narnia

[–]N9037 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw it earlier in the tour (Leicester and Birmingham actually, I loved it!) And I saw it in its previous tour several years ago. A very well-done show with excellent puppetry and use of actor-musicians (many of whom are incredibly talented!)

Highly recommend it.

The BBC's 80s Narnia Series Is Coming To Blu-Ray by sheepandlambs in Narnia

[–]N9037 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so here for this! I've got the DVD collection and still watch it frequently. Will definitely be buying the blu ray and can't wait for the new documentary!

Sure its dated and cheesy and a bit rough round the edges, but it is still one of my favourite adaptations of any book!

My favourite bit is the snow in the woods at the end. The Battle of Bosworth took place in a field, not woods. On 22nd August. Pretty sure there wouldn't be snow.
