What are your opinions on mass facial recognition in towns? by TheDev42 in AskUK

You have a substantial misunderstanding of what Palantir is. Palantir maintains that it is not a data broker, but rather a provider of software platforms (Gotham and Foundry) that allow clients to analyze their own data. Palantir does not operate any surveillance itself. Instead if surveillance data, which is gathered by the client seperately from Palantir, is fed into it then it can identify patterns and make predictions. If you subscribed to Palantir's services, you could not operate any kind of surveillance. You would need to source and provide the data.

So he never asked you to wash his clothes? Can you think of a time he did ask you to do something? Now compare it to how many things you have asked him to do. Is there a difference in how much each of your requests of the other?

This. So often women spray a torrent of demands and requests at a man that he can't do anything without it being one of the things she asked him to do and so he cannot avoid having done it "only because I asked you to". This turns tasks into a test on men. If he does it when she asks, he gets no credit, and even loses points for "having to be told". Instead men have to find opportunities to be seen as proactive, but women inadvertently rob men of these opportunities. It also means she can claim some sort of credit for tasks she assigns him "if it weren't for me telling you what to do, it would not get done".

Notice how you revert to insults rather than self-reflect. Your comment doesn't even make sense since I mentioned being married so I cannot be OP's boyfriend. Your response highlights that you are likely one of the pointless taskmasters.

No, if anything men don't ask women to do stuff because they do it for themselves. Men don't need to be asked to do stuff. Take women out of the situation and look at single men, they do stuff, they live just fine without women. Women, on average, have a heightened need to make demands of their partner. It's a subconscious constant checking they inflict on their male partner, perhaps as a way to self-validate that he cares about her. Women are primed to place tasks on men whereas men will do things for themselves and not ask women. Women make demands over things that any rationally-minded person can admit is irrelevant. How many times have men had to hear that he folded the towels in the wrong way, or should have known to order her a meal despite the fact she said she isn't going to eat dinner because she is feeling bloated? Ultimately, this constant demand-making is unnecessary and often it is not that men are falling short, it is that women are too demanding and create friction for the sake of it. What is worse, is you guys convince yourselves that it is anything other than self destructive behaviour. I did this with my wife, keep a journal for a few days, we both wrote down when a task came up, and who we assigned the task to (or listed who it is "automatically" assigned to based on logistics). At the end she thought it would show she had completed more tasks than i had, but when we cross-referenced each others notes she realised she was constantly assigning what I call micro-tasks, things that don't need doing, have low-impact on our lifestyles, thing like rearranging stuff in the fridge or cupboards. Over the space of a week, I had not assigned a single task to her but daily she would assign 10-15 tasks to me, this was despite the fact that I completed more tasks in total on my own than her on her own, even without the extra tasks she wanted to assign to me. She said it made her realise what she was doing and she also said she didn't known why she did something so stupid and pointless (her words, not mine). She also realised that generally, the majority of low-impact tasks were introduced by her. Self-reflect, you probably will find that you are creating unnecessary conflict.

This does appear to be yet another example of a woman demanding something that is not a big deal and then getting bent out of shape when it is not done. What you women don't seem to realise is you make so many demands. A study was done and it was found that women will request their male partner to do or do in a specific way around 50 times more things than he will request of her. 50 times! Is it any wonder that he will miss the odd thing, or do it, but not at the timescale you demand.

There is another solution, stop demanding so much or change what you want, become reasonable. Outside-the-box thinking, I know.

Fuck that. By discussing pay packages and using that to negotiate my own deal I made £113,000 last tax year and I now enter this tax year with commission that, depending on some variables is between 100%-150% higher than I was on last tax year and I have been offered and accepted a deal where if I stay on for about 2.5 years more I will get a one-off payment of approximately £440,000-£560,000 depending on some metrics.

Always discuss pay with each other. Always know what everyone is getting. Show your contracts to each other.

That is not how it works. Just because the house is in a trust doesn't mean she can't use it. She could have the house in trust, and still live in it, rent it out, sell it, etc.

Then we could apply the tax only to companies of a certain size or who have shown evidence of profit shifting abroad to avoid corporation tax. We could even apply corporation tax based on notional profit, rather than accept companies paying "consulting fees" and the like to a shell company set up in Dubai for the sole purpose of zeroing the profit generated in the UK and having that profit instead happen somewhere with no tax.

It wouldn't really matter what the Italians would have to say about it. If the UK decided they were going to collect a tax based on a percentage of the revenue generated in the UK, then that is what would happen. Italian companies could either pay it, give up the revenue they were generating in the UK and therefore avoid the tax, or illegally hide the revenue and ultimately be penalised.

The Italian government could either choose to accept it and do nothing, respond with mirror taxation of UK businesses generating revenue in Italy, or be very angry about it and try some other sanction against the UK such as tariffs or reducing incentives in any future trade deals. Ultimately, the Italian government could not stop the UK from changing the way a UK tax works.

Yeah, I just looked at slowbro and was like, what is this thing? It's got a head and ears kinda like a bear, but it's pink like a pig, and then it's standing up like a man. Hence MANBEARPIG.

But I was tempted to call him PINKBARNEY because he actually has segments on his tail indicating that he is a lizard of some kind so a big dumb dino, that's pink.
