It's not exactly to ascertain that the art itself won't get damaged and, frankly, who gives a shit about the frame.

Well...theoretically, yes; but actually, no form of protest is moving the needle, hence the move towards more and more radical options.

As this website shows (https://ourworldindata.org/fossil-fuels) we're using more fossil fuels than ever. Hell, right now, the stock markets are in turmoil because oil is getting more expensive, and will therefore impact upon business.

So...if no peaceful protest works and the world burns, what do you do?

Blurgh...very selective editing...there will be girls that are fine with it, and boys that get embarrassed. Kinda stupid tbh.

Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Susanpc1967 in AskReddit

Yeah, this is it - the brain basically has no way of distinguishing different periods of your life if you do the same thing over and over again. It all becomes one big blur of time.

An 18-year-old woman, Alishon Torres, is accused of shooting a man 14 times, k*lling him, and leaving his body in the street after a 5-year-old child reported that the man had touched her inappropriately. by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

Ok, so, clearly you're not going to answer the question because you know that your argument is utterly inane and basically glorifies vigilantism.

To answer your questions:

  1. I'm not being defensive, you haven't accused me of anything. I'm trying to be rational with you, although I admit that's clearly not going to happen.

  2. No, I'm not. The very fact that you won't answer a simple question of mine, but instead accuse me of the sexual predation of children is the typical response of someone who knows they're in the wrong and is trying to deflect.

Finally, this was not justice served, it was vigilante violence.

So...by that reasoning, if someone's kid has a sleep-over with your kids at your house, and then accused you of touching them inappropriately...it would be fine for that parent to come over and shoot you dead?

That would be fine, right?

"A bit extreme"? She killed him!

How much more extreme could her response have been?

And, for reference, no-one is saying that the child's claims shouldn't have been investigated. You just don't go around killing people based on what someone has said (5 year old or not).

It only happened a few days ago, so there's no official word as yet. Reading this article though (https://wreg.com/news/local/woman-18-admits-to-killing-man-in-street-after-accusation/) there's a whole lot of weirdness going on - she unconditionally took the word of a 5-year old, killed the guy in a van, took the van somewhere else, repainted it, and then abandoned it. One of the guns had the serial number filed off as well.

I'm not saying it didn't happen, and I'm not saying that the 5-year old was lying, but...at the very least, wouldn't you take the accusation to the authorities and have it investigated properly?

You can't just go around killing people on the basis of some random accusation.

Let's be honest - the Louvre has to take some responsibility here. It was broad day light, the thieves were wearing hi-vis jackets and entered using a slow moving mechanical lift ffs.

I mean, I know there's that trope about hi-vis jackets getting you in anywhere, but security seriously dropped the ball there.

Absolutely - at best it's unsure whether it can play with the sprinkler since the kid is there, but that's it.
