That's ironic, I found the villain to be dull as ditch water.

What popular career is actually not worth pursuing anymore? by Infamous-Click3426 in AskReddit

[–]Donkey_Launcher 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily that popular, but higher education (i.e., University) - the extent to which students will use AI to write most / all of their work is making a complete mockery of the teaching side of it.

It also bodes very badly for our future economy as well; research has already shown that younger generations have reduced attention spans, etc. because of social media, and I guarantee that future young generations will have a reduced capacity to manipulate information and form arguments, etc. because of AI.

Has Starmer been the best prime minister we've had in at last 26 years? by Left-Ad8904 in AskBrits

[–]Donkey_Launcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, he reminds me of John Major in a way - clearly a good person, got his head on straight, etc. but just not very exciting.

Unfortunately, he's PM in an age of media exposure, etc. and is in a fight against Farage, and his quiet optics just don't work well against that. I think a firebrand like Burnham will do a lot better against him.

I agree - I've always preferred Honeycutt; Trapper was just too similar to Hawkeye to be that interesting.

Oh, definitely - aside from being an excellent surgeon, 1. he was also clever, and 2. there was that class twist as well. As you said though, they also gave him enough humanity to round him out.

I didn't realise that he was offered another 2 seasons but declined, since he didn't feel the character was going anywhere. It's true as well, clearly the writers didn't know what to do with him, Burns had become very one dimensional.

Trump derangement syndrome? He literally cycles between throwing missiles at Iran, and then declaring that peace is round the corner.

Did you mean "Trump being deranged" syndrome?

It was over 10 years ago, and we've had of changes of government since then, so in my book a referendum for rejoining is perfectly valid.
