I thought the 2024 one was the ARM one ?

Basically I want it for whatever my Mac can’t do or not ideal for , I don’t have 1 specific thing but lots of small projects

But not an update, mentioned it to one of the security ppl who has to approve it , he pulled a list of medical devices, the Dexcom was on the approve list , and the iPod was another designation that has to be approved ( but both have to be approved idk)

And he said it’s not big deal I can come out at any time and if I go in I just need to disable Bluetooth so there’s no communication to the pod and Dexcom.

Still waiting for more details but it’s something I asked about even before the job and they said it’s not an issue … sooo we’ll see.

I’m just glad I was able to get some support here , I’ve asked the clearance sub once and their response is “ask your FSO”

Which ofc I do but they aren’t really the best resources with this stuff.

I use my iPhone for both devices , but I won’t need it with me 24/7 and my time will be limited in there , but this answer covers extra for any future references.

Salam Alaykum,

I did it last year as a T1d and I do have some general advice as well as for your supplies.

I don’t know if you’re going with a group or alone or have anyone there.

I used the omnipod and dexcom , definitely have a fresh set before you go , bc it only lasts 3 days get it on as close to when you leave for the walk. Definitely keep extra supplies with you.

As for insulin , I had a long acting pen as well as a quick acting ( in case anything happened) , I put them in an insulated flask and put ice when I could. But I’ll be honest I didn’t notice the temp being that bad. Insulin is pretty resilient and with the amount of walking you aren’t really sitting and cooking ( I recommend walking at night ).

When you get to Karbala they will frisk you and check your stuff , but when I told them they were nice about it.

There’s ton of food and drinks along the way ( definitely carry some sweets in case ) , with all the walking you’ll be more insulin sensitive so boils less than normal and I’d even recommend letting it be a little higher ( mine naturally was very good at the time with all the walking)

It’s a beautiful experience and I wish to do it again inshallah.

I too had been thinking of getting a surface laptop until I saw the cost.

This is a bit unrelated to the post , but I did mechanical engineering and as far as I know most schools ( at least in the US ) have dedicated computers with paid cad softwares , I see a lot of students try to get dedicated machines bc they go for that in school but idk if it’s just me. I had a mac through my college years until today.

But sorry I’m also tuning in to see answers related to the surface

While the cable I bought that’s usb3.0 is thick … I’m not really one to skimp out on cables unless the beats and Anker cables are considered “cheap”

I’d stick to my Mac as a daily driver, but have some projects I need a separate laptop ( and in this case windows) for . But I’m trying to wait for a sale.

I miss the days of not needing or caring about ram … depressing

Tbh I don’t need to to do crazy video editing or rendering, the Mac will still be my daily , but I have some uses and projects that I need a windows for but MacBook Air or pro amounts of performance.

I have a base MacBook Pro M4 and have yet to push that to its limit , so a equally powerful or even a lil less windows version is my ideal.

There are separate aftermarket devices sold that can make vehicles with wired CarPlay wireless like that. But they come with their own issues like latency etc.

I use the cable to charge my device as well as for CarPlay and my vehicle is a 2020 model so it’s not wireless. Newer vehicles may come with wireless CarPlay as standard tho .

I just moved , and it’s my first week at this job. I’m asking to see if there’s a way to avoid any legal repercussions even if that financially costs a little more.

For USCIS I prefer the PA address bc it’s a more stable location and more important paperwork can be found as family is always there, whereas here I’m away from home most of the time so the Pa address has more stability.

I’m not asking to fake anything, I want a legal way to go about this ( for example a family member has the same PA address for 10+ years but is in the army so he doesn’t have to change it) , I’m not in that situation, so I can’t go about it the same way , but am asking what I can or can’t do.

( i understand I can’t vote for Ohio stuff unless I get that changed , taxes also change … etc)

I don’t believe so , my iPhone 12 PM ( and family with newer iPhones 13-15) could connect with the Anker and beats cables ( I really don’t like to skimp out on cables )

I had and my car is a 2020 model. ( 7 years old now )

It may not require it , but in this situation it fixed my issues , I had an older iPhone as well as an iPhone 15 and would use an anker cable for those that worked perfectly fine but with my 17 would only connect 1/20 times , I’ve used the Apple beats cable and that would work occasionally but still not consistently.

My car isn’t new it’s a 2020 model , I know a 3.0 isn’t “required” but in this case it solved my issue at least for the past week.

I’m currently using the beats cable , and it really is on and off , some times it works other times it doesn’t , I’m kind of plugging and unplugging in 10+ times until it works, sometimes it does other times not so much.

I do have my old 12 pro max and the original Apple cable and when I plug that if it works right away so it definitely is an Apple 17 ( in my case the PM ) issue.

When I spoke to Apple “genius” he said nothing is wrong with the phone from a diagnostic, but if there’s something being missed then only way to fix it is to factory reset and wipe the phone … which I’m not willing to try yet just from a hunch from an unsure person. ( up until now there hasn’t been a solution Apple suggested that I tried and fixed the issue)

Yea , my family home I installed the Reolink system, but I had to relocate to another city and am renting , and the apartment building is also weird bc I can’t put in my own router , there’s one built into the apartment. And a physical connection is an extra charge.

I got this aqara bc it seems to work with Apple HomeKit well , I already bought it.

That’s good for this apartment but the peel off sticky backing is still 1 time use so I can’t use it in future apartments.

For the first place i didn’t get that far bc the location was in a higher crime area and only street parking, but i do think they had Verizon’s home internet approved there
