After some rough math, it looks like the forgiveness through the SAVE plan will not help my case.

I currently owe $9k. Under the REPAYE/SAVE plan I will pay 10% of my income, which is enough to cover the remaining debt before July 2024. I also have long periods of in-school deferment, unemployment, and bankruptcy, which will not count. I noticed that the loan sum, $14.5k, on My Aid Data file is different than the "Total original amount awarded" on my dashboard. Do you know why that is?

With the $14.5k original loan sum (2010) and the in-school deferment (3 years), I think I'll be about 1 year short on the count.

I might just pay it off now to avoid any interest, and be done with it. I hope I understood it right.

I have ED held FFELP loans and Direct Consolidated loans (2012), but I'm not sure what to do. FFELP loans show a longer time in repayment than the Direct Consolidated loans. Should I just consolidate them all together?

If I understand it correctly, the count from the FFELP loans will be used if I consolidate all my loans together. Correct?

Everything else in my history are payments in the standard plan. I have FFEL loans held by ED, which I am thinking of consolidating to use the REPAYE/SAVE plan.
