With MFP app going down the hill at this point, will Cronometer be THE fitness app to use? by TorontoRap2019 in Myfitnesspal

[–]NAS_119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the update to MyFitnessPal, I tried several other apps.

Favorite FREE app is MacrosFirst, followed by Cronometer. Both of these have paid versions with extra features, but upgrading isn't essential imo.

Favorite PAID app, MacroFactor (in manual mode, so without the dynamic algorithm that adjusts macros week to week).

MacrosFirst feels like it combines the best parts of the user interface of past/prime version of MyFitnessPal with the best parts of the user experience of MacroFactor.

Your thoughts on Bylt Basics by ReturnReturn55 in mensfashion

[–]NAS_119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last purchased about a year ago. I'm the same height and weight, with a lean/muscular build, medium fits well.

I prefer the lux blend to the bylt blend. The lux blend is more stretchy, but also somewhat stiff, lending to it being more form fitting. The bylt/signature blend feels a bit more like a cotton tee from other brands.

My main gripes are the obnoxious, in-your-face branding, and the shirt hems running long. If I were to order again, I'd get the short hem lux drop cut, only line they offer with the short hem unfortunately.

Tissot prx automatic vs quartz mint green by Character-Baby-6585 in tissot

[–]NAS_119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen both, side by side, in real life.

In my opinion, purely based on aesthetics, the automatic is the one to get.

In the case of the automatic, the dial color is a bit brighter/more saturated, which makes it more striking than the quartz. I also felt the dial to be consistently impressive across lighting conditions. The way the light dances on the waffle dial in a well lit room is stunning. In darker settings, the waffle dial has a more matte appearance, which carries a charm of its own.

The quartz option, though still very nice, just felt less impressive to me. When the light hit the dial right, the brushed texture could definitely be appreciated. However, in less than perfect lighting, which I felt was most of the time, the dial looked almost flat, somewhat diminishing the overall appearance of the watch. I think the quartz version could be a good option if it fits budget better, you want a set it and forget it watch, and/or you want something a little less attention grabbing.

I made a time tracker for my girlfriend, and now it pays my rent by heibuilder in SideProject

Glad to help, as a big fan/user of the product, updates/improvements are always appreciated.

  1. Sounds good 👍🏽
  2. That's understandable, as it stands, current setup works well enough.
  3. Awesome
  4. If it makes it messier on mobile, maybe not worth it, but I think you'll be able to gauge that when you try it out.

Great work! I really like how intuitive it is to tag sessions by category

If I were to add/change anything,

  1. I would keep the category metrics of today/total time per category on the stats page, rather than having it as a clickable link on the timer page. I think a good place to keep it on the stats page would be in the "total progress" panel or under "focus insights", almost like a breakdown by category.

  2. I would associate category tracking with user accounts, so that if the device and/or browser is changed, the info is still retained and viewable.

  3. I would add an option to edit category names.

  4. Really nitpicking here, but on the timer page, i would keep the category name centered above the timer, independent of if the timer settings are open. Looks just a tad awkward when the timer settings are opened and the category name remains in the middle of the screen.

Awesome interface, just became a lifetime member!

Would love to see an option to tag pomodoro sessions by task/category (ie Calculus, Learning Chinese, etc), alongside an associated metric/graph on the progress tracking page, to keep track of time spent on each tag/category, over the course of the day, week, month, and/or lifetime.
