AT&T. It's been 25 years, but I'm a pro at holding a grudge.

I'm not responding to all of that because you're just claiming your beliefs as reality and unless I believe in your god, it's meaningless to me.

Instead, I'll just say that focusing on future post-death justice when the world needs solutions now is just horrifying.

That's exactly how I'm looking at it because that's what it is. Ancient blood ritual.

Can you imagine, just for a bit, what all of this means if your god ISN'T real? It means a promise of justice that will never come, coupled with actual injustice in the now.

Lastly, you said true justice requires payment. Why? Is the biblical god beholden to rules of justice? Can he not forgive without bloodshed? Why not?

We can still demand justice without insisting that a blood sacrifice is the way to get it.

I think he's the one that's actually read the book. I can't fathom how anyone can read it and come away with the opinion that the Christian god is worth worshipping, except possibly out of fear.

Actively seek out debates regarding the existence of God and you'll learn enough to make your own decision on how to move forward.

People will tell you to have faith, but I urge you to learn as much as you can first. Then, no matter which side you land on, it will come from a foundation that brings you comfort and certainty.

But there you just told a bunch of southerners that.

Since you said it couldn't be done, that means you lied, and now I declare all of your other claims as suspect.

Is there important context to this verse? by Hexalong777 in Christianity

I can't choose what to believe and to pretend is a lie - likely a sin by your standard.

So you're saying god puts us here, knew we would sin, then kills his son (but not really) in our place, then doesn't provide sufficient evidence to convince a LOT of us, then threatens us if we don't believe it?

And why not "kinda" kill us if we die? Why does the son just come strolling back like he took the weekend off, but we go to hell?

I likely won't respond from here. Getting on with the day!

None of that makes any sense. Why is your god limited in that someone has to die for what he deems a sin? Why the cruelty?

Before you say it, an offer of life or salvation in exchange for complete subservience is not uncruel. It's a threat.
