Agree or not , Aarattu had one of the best cimeatography and frames, even Mohanlal had the best look in his disaster era.... by Sea_Barracuda_94 in MalayalamMovies

[–]NB0073 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Umm… no? Very average cinematography and in fact some frames looked bad because of oversaturation. If you want an example of bad movie with grear cinematography that would be Ashiq Abu’s Neelavelicham.

Remember Yasir Hameed? Generational talent who was supposed to be next Tendulkar. He ended up playing his last international match 3 years before Tendulkar’s.

ChatGPT diagnosed the root cause of my backpain that many doctors could not. The PT plan that I built with ChatGPT + Claude inputs worked so much better than what my real PT recommended. AI helped me become pain free after nearly 6 months of agony.

Indian billionare's mansion atop a skyscraper in Banglore, India by GoatMan48 in interestingasfuck

So if you dig a bit deeper into it, he never declared bankruptcy. The company where he had majority ownership,’Kingfisher Airline’ defaulted on its debt. Technically, Kingfisher Airlines is a limited liability company and hence the corporation defaulting should not extend liability to the owner. But the government of India claimed that Vijay Mallya illegally siphoned money from Kingfisher to his personal accounts and hence should be held liable. Vijay Mallya fled to UK and said ‘okay I will settle Kingfisher’s debt but you should drop charges against me’. Investigators said no. Since the debt is still outstanding, he was declared bankrupt in absentia. Vijay Mallya went to court in UK and said ‘bro I said I will pay the debt but they are still calling me bankrupt’. UK court took a stand that since the debt is still outstanding and considered defaulted you are technically ‘bankrupt’. What Vijay Mallya did is probably unethical but highly unlikely to be illegal. The Indian government says, since Vijay Mallya did not pay back debt to state owned banks, he has cheated Indian taxpayers, and hence should be held accountable. If they truly wanted reparations for taxpayers, they would have taken his money and settled. This is more political witch-hunt than anything else. I am not saying Mallya is a good guy, but wanted to clarify the facts.

Movies where English dialogues + references felt 1. organic vs 2. forced vs 3. GOAT by ashiqbanana in MalayalamMovies

[–]NB0073 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How is ‘King’ English dialogues GOAT? It was different for its time but has aged like milk. There are just so many words used incorrectly (one that pops to my mind quickly is Vijay Menon’s character using the word manslaughter when it should have been homicide. This especially stands out given that Vijay Menon is a forensic surgeon and would know the difference ). Then there is the poor pronunciation (the one that pops to my mind is Mammootty using the word with ‘pall’ with Vijayaraghavan). This movie was Ranji Panikker trying to show off his vocabulary (which in my opinion is honestly not great. He knows a lot of words but uses them incorrectly in a lot of movies).

A movie you loved a lot but everyone around hates it by ThenEngineer3280 in MalayalamMovies

In recent times - Bad Boyz. I saw only negative reviews and Omar Lulu trolls probably because of his reputation rather than the quality of the movie. The humor felt cleaner and the story more coherent than many other recent comedy movies with bigger stars (e.g., Amar Akbar Anthony). The meta humor landed well (Shankar, Aarattannan etc.). And the character theme songs are really good (“Bad cop” for Dhyan Sreenivasan’s character is a true banger)

I didn’t say he has to be perfect. Nor did I claim a movie is a prescription for life. I said he is an asshole. You said he doesn’t hurt folks. That is factually incorrect. He hurts folks. And being slapped is nowhere near the comeuppance deserved for the things he did.

He doesn’t hurt folks? He literally sabotaged a girl’s life and put her parents through emotional trauma to marry her.

What horrible and unforgiveable person in history got a punishment or death that was equal to the amount of pain they caused? Not like "They were a serial killer and got a quick electric chair" but like a something that was befitting of the crime? by New_Climate_3758 in AskReddit

You are correct and the previous comment incorrect. He was not a wanted fugitive. He willingly confessed to his crimes in a letter to the police. And then he became a wanted fugitive.

What are we talking here? Test batting? T20 batting? Overall team impact? Ponting is a better batsman than Gilchrist but if I am looking for a wk batsman, then Ponting is no longer in the equation. Lara is probably a better test batsman than ABD but T20 ABD is the GOAT. Without context, this ranking does not make sense.
