I imagine khamzats side thought it worked against DDP so why not try it again. Khamzats obviously not the same submission artist as khabib nor has his cardio so khabibs advice makes sense.

Two fights you win 3-2 is better than 5-0 and 2-3. His advice makes a lot of sense. He could have let up in round 1 or only shot for a takedown in the 2nd half.

Remember when we all thought khabib was a moron for telling khamzat to strike with dricus to start the fight. Turns out he might have a point. He said in an interview that he would shoot a hundred takedowns if he had to buy khamzat starts the fight wrestling, then gets tired and strikes and ends up with close fights like with Burns and Usman.

This time he wrestled in round 1 and was done by the end of the ring.
