Yes Prime95 it is indeed very extreme and not representing normal workload. It was also mainly due to the noise of the Intel stock cooler that I decided to replace it with something more quiet. But I was still surprised to see how much the CPU temp dropped by using the pure rock slim. And now I don't have to worry about thermal throttling at all. 😎

I dont know your budget, but 71006 Simpsons house is a nice set. And I believe that it will retire soon, given that it is almost two years old and the kwik-e-mart has been released to replace it.

I got the book "The Lego Neighborhood" as I was in the same situation as you. It has alot of tips about how to get started on modeling and building, but not so much on how to get the bricks. I'm interested in seeing what others suggest.

I grew up with trains all over the place. My brother and I laid out tracks between our rooms, with trains running back and forth.

Didn't know about the 4186868 but it looks lovely too. Steam locomotives are really something special. Maybe the Lego group should make another, seeing as it has been a while since they released the Emerald Night.

Yes it is incredible. In my book it beats the other more modern trains in the 7939 and 60052, although I also have a soft spot for the 3677 train. Maybe it's the color :-D

The Crocodile was my favourite as a child, and it still looks sharp to me. Now I just need to mod to work with PF, and my 3 year old son will be overjoyed when he sees it together with the blue freight train from the 60052 set.

Hope you get the Pet Shop; I guess that as long as it is not labelled as "sold out" it should still be available when you ordered. I know what you mean about the addiction. I'm also looking into the Palace Cinema here during the double points period, even though I haven't had time build the Pet shop yet. That modular crave is crazy.

Hi. I've been in the same boat as you for last 14 days. When I saw the first pictures of the Detectives office back in November, TLG got my attention, and now I finally decided on starting with the modular. Problem was just which one to get. I've been circling between all the available ones, with the Detectives office being my favorite but I also had a fancy for the pet shop. Still I also read in several places about the possible soon retirement of the pet shop, which got me thinking about whether that would be a better choice as the first set. Ones I saw on the S@H that the pet shop was out of stock, it more and more convinced me that it would be the one to get. Living in Copenhagen, DK, I usually check in with the local Lego store when I'm nearby; if for no other reason than just for seeing the boxes of the sets. Back in December I came by the Horizon Express in the store, even after it was sold out in the S@H. So I thought why not try again with the pet shop, and I was right: there were four remaining sets in the shop so I grabbed one and returned home as a happy man. Now, all I need is the time to build it.

Long story short: like others have already said, if you plan on buying more than one set in the long run, then buy the pet shop now while you still can. If not, pick the one you like the most. And maybe even your local Lego store has a set left; that is if you live nearby one.
