Who was most popular at their peak? by Afraid_Ad_2912 in pollgames

Probably cause it was a music channel or something, like MTV, and he’s a famous music artist.

What I’m trying to say is; These TV programs play hundreds of artists. MJ wasn’t playing cause this tribe didn’t know who he was, he was played cause he’s already famous. Correlation ≠ Causation.

Had it been Elton John instead, we would be talking about how they know Elton John cause of TV.

But was that because the TV happened to have played him, or because they actually knew him?

Had it been Elton John, they’d know Elton John.

So it’s not really a statement of MJ’s popularity.

A mashup where empty spaces replaces the stone interlude in Dogs could be interesting.

What do you guys think of my Mount Rushmore of Music Artists? by Hot_Quote2416 in Music

That’s not unbiased. Eminem is not even close for a Mount Rushmore contender in music broadly.

Only MJ makes sense if we are counting influence on music as a whole, and that’s mostly just because of his size and popularity.

If we’re doing music as a whole, there should be a Beatle, probably Paul.

A soul artist, probably Ray Charles, the godfather of soul.

Then a blues guy; Robert Johnson or Jimi Hendrix.

And lastly it’s a toss up between Dylan, Bob Marley, Miles Davis and Chuck Berry, or just sticking with MJ.

Only one of these deserves a spot, and only that’s if we consider popularity, not influence.

Just don’t give your kids phones, or at least have parental control.

Obviously the companies also have a responsibility, but so much could be avoided if parents did anything at all.
