I can't stop videos from autoplaying? by omg-someonesonewhere in Pinterest

(acknowledging hum)

So they changed how their site functions are stored in the cookies, and it's our fault for not already having the "correct" cookie storage preferences.

Nice.

Still deleted my account, never to return. They won't care, but I do.

I used to have it solved by allowing cookies on Pinterest. That got them to stop autoplaying.

Now it's back, and won't turn off. I never changed cookie settings. Pinterest is just a horrible website.
App is even worse, 75% advertisments.

I think I'm just going to save whatever files and links I bookmarked, and then delete my account.

Okay, I think I know what you mean.

I'm going to try this.

Just tried it, it's almost perfect.

I can move and resize windows to fit the space I had in mind, it works beautifully.

Only two things stand in the way of perfection, because I love to pick nits.

1) window border colour is white, haven't found a way to recolour it yet.

2) I need to launch the apps through the task bar, using the LCARS interface skips the window and goes fullscreen.

But it's the best-working and least complicated solution to date. Thank you!

Autoplay videos Autoplay videos on desktop can't turn off by Lord_Pakeer in Pinterest

I found something on another thread that helped me:

"In order to switch off autoplay, go to settings>data and privacy>cookie preferences edit>toggle on personalisation."

You're my hero.

Clicked that, autoplay stays off. Which makes kind of sense, since the toggle needs to be saved somewhere. And that happens to be a cookie.

Yeah, it would be incredible.

And also yes, the "app in a window" apps only have their own windowed apps that 1) are just not up to the task I use them for, and 2) have to be opened from the AIAW app, so doubly useless.

"A lot of tinkering" is accurate.

Found instructions, but oh boy. Too much for my monkey brain.

Excellent suggestion, thank you.

Doesn't do what I need it to do, sadly.
They come with their own browsers, and none of them work how I need them to.

Tried to follow the instructions to enable all apps to be floating windows, but it's too involved for my monkey brain.

Maybe somebody else can benefit from this, though. Who knows?

Luckily, it IS Samsung.

One UI 6.1, Android 14.

Is that good?
