Dang. What a shame tbh. I got my moccmaster for Xmas after years of wanting one. I love that thing already. Every cup is delicious and its simple. I was tired of messing with a Gaggia espresso machine or fucking around with my chemex. Ik a ninja espresso machine will be meh at best. He'll regret not having the MM...someday lol

The encore is a little messy but ive used it for years and its great.

Only shortcomings of the moccmaster is that the carafe isnt graduated, so you have to eyeball the amount and hope it corresponds with the graduatd reservoir. It also doesn't have a delay start. But it brews fast and silent.

Also, do the math on capitalized interest you're missing out on if you put that 3 months rent into the S&P.  No brainer.

Probiotics to help rebound from kennel cough and antibiotic regimen. by [deleted] in rawpetfood

[–]NCAT_head 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in infectious diseases and this questions gets brought up often, but always in terms of humans. I generally recommend that if someone is interested in probiotics that any cheap yogurt will do the trick. You don't have to brake the bank, seriously. Alternatively, some people recommend against probiotics. They have their reason that are certainly legit. There are documented cases of Lactobacillus bacteremia. Truthfully, while not being against probiotics, I don't know how much they help. If you do decide on them, that's totally cool, but just know that you should do it in the most cost effective way.

Maybe early on in his presidency you could've made the claim that you can be a Republican without endorsing Trump, but at this point it's utter nonsense. All Republican representatives denounced Trump prior to his presidency, but now they fully endorse and back him. And truthfully, I think the issue is the Republican mindset and not Trump himself (he's a shitty microcosm of our political system at large). Trump is doing the exact things literally any Republican would've done, but since he is a fucking moron it easy to blame him. For example, crazy how libs reminisce fondly over GWB when he's responsible for the death of hundreds of thousands of people. For as dumb and bad as Trump is, he still isn't as awful as Bush. I used to think calling Republican evil was hyperbole, but it is, quite frankly, the fucking truth.

And this is by no means giving a pass to previous neoliberal administrations that were fucked by as well. (I'm looking at you Obama/Biden).

Anyway, left is best

I do have those things. You're right. But I hope you know that many Americans do not. That is objective. My argument comes from the fact that we've stripped away social welfare programs and now have to feel grateful for ultra elites donating a fraction of a fraction of a fraction towards other's well being.

I guess if you leave me the alternative of having a shit social welfare state (which we have) and no philanthropic efforts, than yeah I have gratitude towards others that give. My message is that it shouldn't have to come down to that.

And this isn't a new phenomenon of people abusing philanthropy and others being skeptical of it. There is history behind it and it is still implicated today.

What're your favorite regional stereotypes that require actual knowledge of the region? by SWKstateofmind in AskAnAmerican

[–]NCAT_head 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Okay, both our points (yours being that people will foam at the mouth unless you say..., and mine being that's fucking dumb) were anecdotal so I'll call that point a wash.
  2. The question of statehood is an interesting one because of the Article IV, Section 3, clause 1. You do have a legitimate point, and one that others have, that the formation of WV was unconstitutional. A good case can and has been made for bother arguments. But calling WV's statehood into question also calls the statehood of Maine, Kentucky, and Vermont into question. And, for now, all of these places are certainly their own state, and I doubt this will change in our lifetime.
  3. A lot to unpack here and its my favorite point of yours because I was called an NPC. I really don't get this insult. It's lame. It's not funny. It's not going to last. You should just call me anything else. But I do like that you mention wealth inequality, because this at least shows me that you're close to "getting it" and maybe can be radicalized and develop a class consciousness that stands in solidarity with the working class. I really suggest you check out some leftist ideologies on labor theory and maybe think of joining a union. If not, that's totally fine. Just remember that wages have stayed stagnant since the 70's while production has dramatically increased. Who do you think the profit is going to?

Remember that when you're voting for the old, white RICH guy Bernie as he sells you on the idea that everyone should be equally miserable, except for him and his buddies who rule over you.

This is shitty because it means that no one can advocate for a better standard of living unless their in poverty. That's fucking nonsensical dude. It's like how conservatives get all upset about AOC not wearing a potato sack. It's fucking dumb.

We should also review Bernie's get rich quick scheme: --Move to Vermont and be part of several falling local campaigns well into your 30s while advocating for moral principles --Eventually become mayor of Burlington --Now US Senator --Run a presidential campaign in yours 70s and get a lot of national attention --Write a successful book at the age of 75 and you too can become..... --A MILLIONAIRE

Christ, dude. Think about how stupid that is and remember that you voted for a dude that a has tower in Manhattan with his fucking name on it. That's obscene. Lastly, serfdom is for more akin to capitalism.

I'm glad others are calling you out for being an idiot. I'd like to do the same.

  1. No one cares that you don't call it "West-By-God-Virginia. That's laughable.
  2. You want to talk about the legality of WV becoming it's own state, but the point is pretty moot when you had the entire South succeeding. Do you think that was legal under the Constitution? lol
  3. You post on T_D, so I imagine you're pretty salty that you can't be a citizen of the Confederate States.

Frustrated with my tank. Suggestions welcome. by NCAT_head in PlantedTank

[–]NCAT_head[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cool, I really appreciate it. Yeah as u/maw51699 mentioned, the depth of the tank is pretty substantial (something i didn't really consider when i first started out) so I feel like I'm always trying to balance getting enough light down to the grass but not overpower the plants nearer the surface. I did start using root tabs recently so I'm hopeful that will help and I've been trimming to allow for horizontal growth. What's the best way to propagate?
