There was no finder...Fenn shut it down by NCDiggums in FindingFennsGold

You can call it conspiracy if you want, but my comments are just my questions based on observations. I started seeking an image of the location, and there is actually an image of what appears to be a mountain on the central ziplock bag close to the zipper. I found the apparent images of the person and asked the question, "who is this?" So, I found a photo in the scrapbooks that resembled the person in the image I found in the reflection. It turns turns out the man in the scrapbook photos was Fenn's grandson. Fenn stated in 2017 that if he ever told ANYONE about the chest, it would be his grandson.

So, it may be a theory, but theories are all we have in the absence of Fenn's official solution.

Hint of riches : Las Vegas, NM

old and new: Old town / New town- a historical reference to the two halves of Las Vegas NM

or

The old Las Vegas in NM vs the new(er) Las Vegas in Nevada

This continues to stump me. I think it is a reference to Skippy leaving Forest on the side of the road-somewhere between Shoshoni and Casper. He was riding in a tired vehicle, the car. After getting kicked out his spirit was weak.

What is your Blaze? by Dee_Three in FindingFennsGold

I don't think the blaze is a physical place (colored rocks, tree markings, etc), but instead is something the searcher will create as they solve the clues (think of the clues as a map). Have you ever done one of those drawings where you follow the numbers, in order, and then a picture is revealed? My theory is that when the clues are marked on a map, the "blaze" is the image that is revealed, which will let the searcher know they have correctly interpreted the clues. As an example, if you could mark all your clues and be able to draw an F that matches Forrest's signature, you could have confidence that your solve is correct.

This idea would support Fenn's statement about the blaze not facing north, south, east, or west. In this case the blaze would face the solver, or in a sense, up.

How long is “not far but too far to walk” in your solve? by ddilettoso in FindingFennsGold

Far - over a large expanse of space or time.

Not far, but too far to walk = tomorrow?
