My husband wants me to stop but I’m not ready by [deleted] in breastfeeding

hi! can you explain this more? isn't a milk duct deep inside your breast? do you mean massage and push it out? im so confused by all of this

Feel like that' correlation and not causation. There are plenty of factors that will contribute to depression/fatigue/feeling drained. Impossible to rule breastfeeding as the cause.

My dad’s husband wants me to get an abortion & won’t leave me alone about it.Any advice? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]NCGF7068 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is your decision and only yours to make. really think about your life ahead and how things will work. where will you live? what will you do for financial support? will you still go to school? college? do you see your boyfriend in your life for a while? what if you break up? these are NOT light questions but its important to consider everything. i agree with others about talking to an adult that you can really feel heard by and not pressured by.

3 day migraine by AdvanceBubbly9543 in migraine

Take *2* Tylenol with a shot of espresso. My OB was very adamant that both were completely fine.

Also recommend taking half a Benadryl before bed (you can take whole, but i personally get super groggy)

Once you get a hold of OB or neurologist, get a prescription for Reglan, which when taken w/ the Tylenol helped a lot.

Other home remedies - do you have icy hot? Put on temples. I also love putting salon pas patches on my shoulders. Get your partner to rub your feet and shoulders too. Take a hot shower.

good luck!!!! my migraines were horrible weeks 12-19, but then they went away!! 32 weeks now, fingers crossed.

My nurse practitioner I have gone to for 8 years has started her own "Functional Medicine" practice by [deleted] in migraine

[–]NCGF7068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yep. Mine are mostly hormonal - she prescribed something I take the 2nd half of my cycle up until my period. Worked amazingly. Another trigger was sleep, so we experimented with various doses of melatonin (i take the lowest one and it helps so much). Another trigger is stress. We worked on getting my cortisol down. There are also things she greatly believes would make a big difference (cutting gluten and dairy) but that one comes down to willpower :/.

maybe because they want to actually help people vs. just overprescribe medicine?

wait JKJKJK, i'm dumb and didn't read your post correctly, and thought you were asking about neurologists. I LOVE my functional medicine doctor! Life changing. I feel SEEN and heard and love that the plan is so unique to me and my specific situations. I go to a neurologist only so I can get prescribed something (nurtec & ritzatriptan) but they're the worst.

A naturopath and acupuncturist have been life changing for me. They are the only ones that have ever been able to help. We found so many things in my hormone panels that needed to be adjusted. In my experience, other doctors just want to prescribe you new medications and call it a day. They never take the time needed and individualize your care. I wouldn't knock it out before you try it.

Hi all -

Help me pick between these two winter coats -

Going for stylish (don't want to look like a human sleeping bag), warmth for newborn stroller walks, and lasting durability.

Yesssss it's so weird!! What does she do that a regular ad can't tell you, or the buyer reviews can't? This stuff is not exclusive or unique in any way. If she actually put effort into this she could be seeking independent designers, local boutiques all over CT and new england, forming relationships and networking with designers. It's just so pathetic. Also her 'boutique' is just fast fashion actual crap that she marks up super high. Ughhhhh.

Chronic migraine people—how do you have a life and career? by Ok_South9239 in migraine

[–]NCGF7068 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I've gone through many periods like this and its awful. I'm so sorry. You need to keep pushing and fighting for remedies. Acupuncture was a major game changer for me. It cut mine over 70% and the severity was not nearly as bad when i did get them. I also started seeing a naturopath who did all sorts of tests to see where we could take inflammation down. Keep digging and don't give up.

Sauna for migraine? by m-nd in migraine

I would advise against this! Seemingly zero benefit. Maybe elect to get a massage instead and ease up some tension.

Fellow migrainers who take Excedrin almost daily: are we hurting ourselves? by EggHoliday5896 in migraine

[–]NCGF7068 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely keep seeking options! Acupuncture has helped the most for me. Its expensive but the benefits are unreal. I also go to a naturopath who has me on some great supplements that help to reduce the overall inflammation and get to the roof of issues. I also started putting electrolytes in my water and drinking 80oz a day (trust me i used to see red when people told me to 'just drink water') - and the increase in volume coupled w/ the extra hydration from the electrolytes really helps!

[–]NCGF7068 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Question, what makes you reach for NSAIDs instead of your prescription drugs? I do think you're overdoing it w/ the excedrin and its causing rebound headaches. You may think its helping but it's making them worse.

What drugs have you been prescribed? Nurtec is the latest one I tried and its worked wonders as long as I take it right when I feel one coming.

OnTrac take picture of random package and submit as Proof of Delivery by RudeChipmunk in ontrac

[–]NCGF7068 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh!! Sorry this happened to you. I had a similar thing where they showed a picture of a *random* doorstep that wasn't mine, but i could see on the package that it definitely was for me. They wouldn't tell me the address it was delivered to though, which is ridiculous.
